Nah.fwiw , the Bay Area itself has seen better days
Eh, my best friend lives in San Francisco and absolutely loves the city and the Bay Area ... but he would have no problem saying it's absolutely seen better days.Nah.
Nah. About 95% of what people cite as problematic boils down to manufactured narrative, and the other 5% is a function of wealthy homeowners taking FYIGM to problematic extremes. But unless you've personally got an interest in commercial real estate in the Financial District not much has changed over the years.Eh, my best friend lives in San Francisco and absolutely loves the city and the Bay Area ... but he would have no problem saying it's absolutely seen better days.
It's more than Fox and WSJ.nonsense they've seen on Fox or read in the WSJ and very little of it is actually true.
My folks don’t read the Chronicle, which was what I was talking about. The press at large, including the local outlets, have basically devolved into taking stenography for the tech industry, commercial real estate owners, and the police union. It's more than Fox and WSJ.

Why and how The San Francisco Chronicle told the story of open-air drug dealing

They’ll find that the problems here are happening in every urban area in the country. The Bay Area is just ahead of the curve.
And look, as a guy who has spent his entire adult life working to end homelessness and poverty you are not going to find anyone more disappointed that these problems have not only persisted but gotten worse. That still does not mean that the media narrative on what’s happening here is at all accurate. There’s a difference between quality of life issues and public safety issues, and basically everyone is missing that point.
Kinda like the same things I hear about Los Angeles. But hey… if it keeps more people from coming out here, please keep sharing the narrative.Nah. Not to pick on anyone specifically, but I get kind of tired of listening to the BS on all of this. Every time I call my parents they try to tell me how it is out here based on some nonsense they've seen on Fox or read in the WSJ and very little of it is actually true. Stuff like Walgreens closing a bunch of stores over 'security concerns' when those same stores were already set to be closed for entirely different reasons. Listening to folks tear this place down because they've got some incredibly stupid bone to pick gets old, and in my 20 years here it's always been the same old song and dance.
Who had “NW drops football in the wake of a massive hazing scandal and is subsequently dropped from the B1G, allowing Norte Dame to take its place with minimal negotiation” on their bingo card?
I’m just kidding…maybe.
Seems like the state of play is that the Pac 12 schools would rather stay together all things being equal, so they're just waiting for some clarity on a TV deal which seems likely to show that all things will not be even close to equal.
"Until we're not."
I'm sure Utah will stay in the PAC12 as long as humanly possible to avoid the appearance that they are 'following' BYU to the Big 12

that certainly is a big part of itI'm sure Utah will stay in the PAC12 as long as humanly possible to avoid the appearance that they are 'following' BYU to the Big 12
Was the old name offensive to Colonials? Not a realignment but a name change to a conference:
Name change has to do with how big the conference footprint is now. Basketball members stretch from Boston to Charleston, SC. Football members go from Maine all the way to the state of North Carolina.
Mountain West has reportedly told SDSU that they are a member in good standing with the conference.
