ok Coleman & Terrence are 2 known starters. You have to give Dain a start too (efficient & double-double). Then I ok with Goode & Ty for the the final to start positions. Then Sencire & Quincy to come off the bench quick. DLG may be in the mix later on in the year for a 8 man rotation

Imagine a first team all Missouri Valley player coming off our bench. It’s a real possibility between Domask and Luke. We are deep as all get out.

If i had to guess i would say Brad has had (or will have) a talk with Luke and he will end up as one of the first couple off the bench. Luke is the quintessential “team guy” and will do whatever it takes for the collective to succeed.

I think both Domask and Goode will end up starting and be among the top 5 in minutes. Having Rodgers and Dain play heavy minutes together isn't a recipe for success due to lack of floor spacing.

Rodgers, Shannon, Domask, Goode, Coleman. Puts two plus shooters on the floor in Domask and Goode plus an average one in Shannon. Doesn't have a true power forward type player but they should be able to switch well and all 5 players are 6'6+ so it's not like they're lacking height.

I like this lineup a lot. I also like this lineup with dain at the 5. Ty and DD in P/R situations and your best shooters on the perimeter.

I think we start Dain but prefer this lineup (although I’d slot Guerrier in for Goode)

Not enough quickness in this lineup. Quick guards will blow by Rodgers and Goode.

I think its going to be pretty hard to keep Dain off the floor. He's too valuable offensively, on the glass, and with shot blocking to not play him a lot of minutes. Him and TSJ are the only proven guys that you can throw the ball to and say go get us a bucket.

Well Shannon better show up on the defensive end and this is expecting that if Rodgers is going to play the 1 then he is going to have to defend guards. Giving up quickness but his length and strength advantage should give him some cushion to cheat and recover if he gets beat.

Goode is basically playing a small ball 4 in this lineup so not worried about him at all.

See Domask, Marcus. Most compete offensive player on the roster just lacks the athleticism of Shannon.

Also, Harmon is more than capable of creating his own shot.

I like Guerrier as depth but he played the best minutes of his career as a small ball 5 in college. He can shoot a bit and he's a good athlete but he's being miscast if you're asking him to play on the perimeter. Much better playing inside with the ability to pop out to stretch the floor occasionally.

Well in my ideal lineup he’d play the 4, so he can get some post-ups going but also space the floor for us. Love the idea of Ty or DGL or Harmon at the one, and then Shannon-Domask-Guerrier-Coleman. Fun, modern, fast lineup that can play 5-out.

In my mind the season hinges on 3 point shooting. I wish we had more shooters.

Good thing the season isn't played in your mind. Or is it............

We obviously don't know how this season will play out, but not only did we add Domask who is a solid shooter, and a healthy Goode, but we will have better chemistry than last year, which leads to better offense and better spacing. A lot of our shots last year were one on one ball or late in the shot clock b/c our offensive execution as a whole was so poor. After the season we found out we had some locker-room cancers as well. I think we'll see a completely different team this year. I think they'll play more as a team and for the team, which will result in much better looks on the offensive end. I could be wrong, but I just have a feeling after our first few games to get jitters out and lock things in as a unit we'll see much better offensive execution in the halfcourt.

I don’t wanna sound like Gloomy Gus…because overall I think we’ll be competitive-good…

But I am most concerned with the teams that have quicker, penetrating, playmaker guards/small forward-types breaking us down.

Ty is versatile but is he that versatile at guarding lightining-quick smalls?
DGL has by all accounts…been a breath of fresh air…but he’s a freshman guarding
BigTEN guards and the like. That’s a HUGE
learning curve and a tough ask for anyone.

Sure we sic Mad Dog SH on most anyone…but teams with great backcourts might be our Kryptonite.

Bingo...it is BASKETball they play. However, with the speed and athleticism available in today's mix, shooting is not everything. But you have to have 3 or 4 guys that you can count on to make shots every day. This team has a couple. My hope is that DGL and Harmon can become dependable.

Also, the turnovers are frightening, have been for every Underwood team, and show no sign of changing.

And as for FT shooting....no excuse and it falls on the coaches.

I think that ever since DWill, Dee, & Luther ran CP3 out of Assembly Hall back in 2004, teams with "great backcourts" have been our Kryptonite

Last year with less experienced personnel, we kept Marcus Carr and Tyrese Hunter in check (while somewhat limiting Hepburn, Essegian, Hoggard, and Walker).

We might not be perfect on the perimeter, but Brad and co. will maximize the guards we do have. The stars will have to fill in the gaps.
