was he enrolled... does that mean if he transfers he will need to redshirt at the new school?

He didn't fit the new system. At least he figured it out early on, and he can find a school right away. Maybe he can get a waiver due to a new coach and all. Good luck to Eli.

From what it looked like in his highlights he was a QB with a relatively good arm and he could run it pretty well too. Isn't that what we are looking for in a QB that will run a Petrino esque offense?

Did I totally misinterpret his highlights or was there something else about his game that didn't mesh?

Lovie and McGee want a plus athlete at QB. Look at Cam Thomas for instance.

That, in concert with falling behind Fitzgerald and George, caused him to bail. He probably wasn't going to play, at least anytime soon, so good call. Wish him the best.

It was nice that they had this big reseating effort, made the process it moving closer to others that I wanted to sit with super easy. I'm hoping they do it every year! :thumb:

Really excited for the UNC game. Think I am glad it will be getting exposure;-) Could really see that game going either way. The score last year was not indicative for most of the game, the venues are swapped, and with the season they had last year a win here would be a statement for the new coaching staff. We win this game and I think it puts a lot of other games into play, really all but UM as you would expect our team to improve more throughout the season with a new staff than the other teams. Lose this one, especially if embarrassingly, and I think we could be looking at a 3-4 win season.

As much as we are all ecstatic with the coaching situation, looking at the depth chart on OL I think we have to admit the previous regime did help us out in that area. Chayce Crouch is going to get to play behind a really good bunch.

UNC is my early season surprise upset too because they are gonna be 2 or 3 td favorites and that game in their house woulda been a LOT different if we had converted a couple early fourth downs which we didn't and got our dobbers down after that. Plus their good qb gawn.

Our d started out strong against em and we should have a strong secondary and d line so we won't get so tired and it won't be played in a ducking swamp Like last year
Man it musta been 140 degrees down there and Illinois boys can't take to much of that nasty swamp heat.

Thought he banned them in March?

Well, that could be based on this quote from the article...but the article just came out today.

Smith said he made the decision to do away with his players’ favored two-wheeled transportation shortly after he was hired, and announced it with no discussion.

“It’s a team rule. It’s not a democracy,” he said, adding that he doesn’t believe his players are being deprived. “There’s an old fashioned way to get around, on a bike.”

I think we can upset UNC as well, but many down in Carolina believe their new QB is better than their old QB.

But at home and hopefully not dropping too many passes, and with our D Line controlling the LOS, we win 28-24. Boom!!

Or their punt returner/receiver.

I think we beat them easily. But I remain the eternal optimist so...

It looks like Teko Powell is no longer listed on the roster. Anyone know if the injuries were too bad for him to play anymore, or something else?

I'd guess the injuries. That's a real bummer

Robert said he'd heard a while ago that Teko was going to graduate and transfer, so that must be what happened.
