Quick question about Camille Jackson. I remember she came in pretty highly rated, but coming off an injury.
I haven't noticed her mentioned in any future projections. Is she still recovering?
She was cleared to play last season and saw limited action

Part of it was not being able to participate in team activities while she was recovering in the beginning. Think a small mix of catch up but more so being a freshman and learning the system/speed of game takes longer for some more than others. Never know how it all translates from high school to college level. Illinois has a ton of experience back from last season but it will take the unproven talent(recruits/transfers) to take Illinois to the next step this season. I love the depth we have at 1-3 spot! We have more depth at 4-5 spot but need to stay healthy. Keep Bostic/Hobby healthy for the season

Top two class of 2025 players in Illinois, both with Illini offers, in this game from last season:

Destiny Jackson, guard, Whitney Young (Navy #2)
Nora Ezike, forward/center, Lyons (White #25)

DJ has got some game! At both ends of the floor. Love how she was guarding Ezike in the post for part of the first half. Reminded me a little of D-Will. Ezike, on the other hand, is long and very athletic, but looks like she hasn't played a lot of basketball. Maybe I'm wrong. Are we involved with her?

Yes, reading is a skill. I see now that she has an offer.

Huh?? No mention of Shay Bollin or Cori Allen. Not to minimize the impact of Hobby and Dolan, but Bollin, much higher rated out of high school than anyone on the Illini roster, was hampered by injuries last year, and Cori Allen might be the highest rated freshman recruited by Illinois in recent memory.
I like many of us on here thought Allen might be the best Freshman coming in. After reading The Athletic and them rating Dolan as the number 10 Freshman we might be in for a huge boost from both of them.

10. Gretchen Dolan
Illinois guard, 5-11
Williamsville South High School; Buffalo, N.Y.

In addition to being the daughter of a former collegiate player and current high school coach, Dolan’s three older siblings also played/play college ball. So it’s fair to think her adjustment to the college level might come a bit easier than most considering her driveway family pickup games during the holidays have probably gotten pretty competitive. Though Dolan likely doesn’t have a huge shot to slide into the starting lineup in Champaign since all five Illini starters return, she has a chance to be an impact player with her deep 3-point range that is rare in any player, let alone freshmen. The top half of the Big Ten has a bunch of teams that are veteran laden, but Dolan can be the sixth player who makes an outsized contribution due to her scoring ability.

Any information on tickets?
I can't find any ticket info on the fightingillini.com press release or the official page of the West Palm Beach Classic. All we know is the games will be held at Massimino Court (capacity 1,600), will post anything if any new news about tickets comes up.

Thank you.

What happened to our resident insider @Baskins Tiger? Maybe he has a gag order until the season gets going, but it sure would be nice to hear some practice tidbits. I’m excited to see these ladies in action. Hopefully we get a nice TV schedule after the travesty of last season’s.

Ezike’s mom shutdown basketball in the state for 2 years so maybe that has something to do with it. She also is a pretty highly regarded soccer goalie so she may have played less high level hoops in junior high.
