After 1 quarter, it's 37-21 and 3 things stick out. 1) We might be an even better three-point shooting team than last year, which is saying something. You can't give Peebles any space. 2) 10 players have already seen the floor. There wasn't a let-up while the starters were out. We have way more useful players than last season. 3) I wasn't expecting Shay to be quite so mobile. She hasn't put up much in the way of stats, yet, but she's going to be a real versatile piece on the wing and inside.

How are the new players doing?

Especially our 2 new bigs.

67-35 at the half....

I had to mute the audio as these announcers , especially the color dude never shut up.....also, if they had done any research they would know our skill in 3 point shooting allready.....

With all 5 starters back and beefed up depth , we should be a force to be reckoned with.....

I'd like to see ms. Dolan and ms. Allen show their skills in the second half as we already know how awesome our top 6 are......

Great things ahead this year for both BB teams as we are loaded for bear.....

GO ILLINI !!!!!!!!

I agree with you on Bollin. Quite athletic and very cerebral. Hobby will give us a banger down low which we sorely missed last year. Hope that she can give us 20 minutes a night. Peebles looked like a different player tonight with her penetration and her defense.

Really impressed with the team this year. Coach recruited some very strong additions who should contribute and address some of last year's weaknesses. I'm really impressed with Gretchen Dolan and Shay Bollin, and Camille Hobby provides some toughness that we didn't have last year.

The team looked like a real B1G contender to me...Where we lackedsize that had effective skill has been addressed in the backcourt and frontcourt.Camille is rugged and smooth with experience ,Shay is a non stop motor and im sure by her recruiting rank she can shoot. Our 2 freshmen are not asleep at the wheel Gretchen just might immediately transfer that amazing scoring touch and defense.Cori does have experience with high level play from being on a High School national champ..I did want Aneesha Morrow to transfer here but oh well we just have to meet them somewhere along the way to a long trip in the tournament. I DONT see Indiana beating us twice this year or anyteam for that matter....Please support these women in Champaign people they deserve this as much as the men..

So many good things to say, let me focus on a few very nice , some obvious items. We can shoot, even better than last year. WBB at Illinois can shoot the dang ball and the whole team can. Hobby was such an amazing surprise for me to watch. We have not had anyone like her, tall, big, strong, knows how to use her size and is fearless. My first thoughts were did she know that we are a running team when she agreed to come here? She can play within 15 feel of the basket like no woman we have had here for as far back as I recall. My second thought was she might foul out some games she is so physical at times. Watching a whole game of her that is what other teams did to us at times last year. Hobby is going to be loved by the fans and she may not score a lot of points some games, but yet win some game as she is a player of strength, smart and total team player.

Shoup Hill was even better than last year. Maybe a year under her belt, maybe playing with Bostic, Bolin and Hobby or maybe she just worked to improve herself. She shot, rebounded, played better D. As good as she was, she is better!! Bollin is smart, team player also, another great pickup. She knows basketball and like Hobby may not be the star here, but she is capable of being a great player, she is a better team player. Like Bostic last year, Bollin and Hobby work hard inside so our great shooters are getting open 3 point shots.

Finally Bostic, it is a crime that the leading rebound in the big ten the past two years doesn't get more praise from the media for the job she does on this team. Once again and in only 20 minutes last night, she got a double, double. 14 points, ten rebounds, 3 assist. Played well with whatever teammates where in, can play the 5, 4 and can guard about anyone. Would they please have a fan giveaway that are horns with Bostic on it so we can start tooting her horn? Our guards are going to carry us and put on one hell of show this year. Trust me the people on this board who know and love basketball with love the "BIGS" we have this year.

Also we will find out how good of Coach Green is because she has so much talent it is going to be hard to always put the right players on the floor all the time. What a fun year this is going to be. Sure not saying we will win every game, but we have a chance to win each one, not one game we can't. How many will we win?

Hobby is a key addition to this squad. I have mentioned before but her dad is DL coach for the Bengals. Won't fill up the stat sheet but she is an ideal post player for this team who will log quality minutes.

Shoup Hill was even better than last year. Maybe a year under her belt, maybe playing with Bostic, Bolin and Hobby or maybe she just worked to improve herself. She shot, rebounded, played better D. As good as she was, she is better!!

First season the coaches and players were getting acclimated to each other. This past offseason Green knew the weaknesses/strengths of the players on the roster. Shoup Hill needed to work on footwork this offseason. Constantly in foul trouble and looked so-so on the defensive end last season. Half of her Big Ten games she either had 4 fouls/fouled out. Between training and having more depth hopefully it will cut back her foul trouble and keep her in the game at crucial spots.

Also we will find out how good of Coach Green is because she has so much talent it is going to be hard to always put the right players on the floor all the time. What a fun year this is going to be.

Nice problem to have having more depth and agree with right players on the court. We have 5 starters back and already feel like we have 2-3 "starters" at this stage coming off the bench. Foundation is set for this program to be a tourney team annually with Green at the helm.

We stayed too long on 3 hires after Grentz.

Law should have been fired after 9-23 Year 4, Bollard showed have been fired after 9-21 year 4, Fahey should have been fired after 11-19 year 3.

Green did more in her first year then Law Bollard and Fahey did in 15 years.
