How great to finally have a good reason to even want to watch the Selection Special. I would always cheer for my conference to do well but it sure was depressing not to have my favorite WBB team to support. Let's go Illini. Bring the FIGHT!!

Here's the gaffe with the WBB Selection Show.

Credit: Matthew Loves Ball

When they initially displayed IL's subregion (Greenville 1 bottom), they should not have displayed any teams.. but instead they displayed every single team which went totally counter to how the show was revealing the matchups.

Watching this in real time, heart-pounding waiting to hear your name, was exceptionally confusing.

If you hear anything about a strange reaction from the Illini to the bracket reveal, well I believe the show itself was the issue. You can see that at 2:40 of the press conference video in the previous page.

Start 4:00 -

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — When Genesis Bryant first got to Illinois, she looked up at the banners around the State Farm Center and noticed something.
It had been two decades since the Illini women's basketball program had made the NCAA Tournament. After Sunday, that banner will need to be updated.
Illinois heard its name called and was named a No. 11 seed in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, set to play in March Madness for the first time since the 2002-03 season.
“This was the goal,” Illinois women's basketball head coach Shauna Green said. “This was the vision. This is what I believed could happen, and to do it in Year 1, it’s almost surreal, like, ‘Did we really just do this?’”

Illinois (22-8) would match its win total from the previous three seasons combined if it wins a game in the tournament. It had more than 20 wins in the regular season for the first time since 1999-2000.
Now, it’s back in the sport’s premiere event.

I had to highlight this small snippet from this article as , it's small in size , but so HUGE in the ascension of the WBB squad back to a level we haven't had in over 20 years .............................20 years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be glued to my screen as i watch the ladies tip off tonight , pulling for a big time win and moving forward this year with so much positivity staring us in the face.......

I think the sky's the limit with Coach Green and this years squad .......Next year with all the returning players and some high level recruits coming in , I doubt we will need a play in game as this year.......

the future is bright and i say , It's aboot time ...........surprised we suffered so long with Josh's friend Nancy at the helm ......But that's in the rear view mirror now and full speed ahead !!!!!!!

LETS GO LADIES FIGHTING ILLINI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it's finally dawned on me that today is Wednesday, not Thursday, so I gotta wait another long long day to see the Lady Illini play......
I hope to see doubleheader wins for both the MBB & WBB teams TOMORROW....
I haven't been sleeping well since I had another round of charley horses in my left leg starting Sunday night and every night since then....
Victories by both guys and girls will definitely make me cope a lot better.....
It really really really really will.....
The ladies play today, Pru. 6pm Central ;)
