I do agree with many of these posts, however, I need to chime in on the DaMonte conversation.Couldn’t disagree more Williams seem to always make a play at the end of a game. He makes a three or makes a defensive play. He brings intensity every night. I hope Podz and Goode learn from him
I like the aggressiveness he has shown this year in going to the hoop. However, it doesn't appear that he has the instinct to produce points when he attempts to take it to the rim. He seems to me to be more of a flinger; he gets in range, but can't finish. I think it's important to the team that he is able to excel at this aspect, however, for some reason, he isn't excelling.
Not to say he should stop driving and pulling the defense off the arch, but he should limit it to one or two times a game, just to keep the defense honest.
His best use is to take the 3pt shot.
Coach is going to play DaMonte. DaMonte's a man. Coach likes his toughness, and his leadership.
(Note: I don't know Coach or anyone who does. These are just my observations.) Yet he got twenty minutes in the UM game. This is less than his average, so maybe we are trending in a different direction. We'll see. I think he'll get more minutes against PU. We'll probably need him on D.
Coach is a "win now" coach. I think he's playing what he thinks is giving him the best chance.
