Curbelo is a future All American and lottery pick....but make zero mistake about this......we are here now, in this position, for one reason...and one man only.
Garza took 21 shots to make 21 points. Kofi DominatedCompared to Kofi, he is. A better shooter, but, by far slower, less athletic, and got dominated.
Pretty sure he’s saying Ayo’s commitment to Illinois changed our trajectory and started this whole thing in motion.Interesting take. I'm not sure I would say "one man only." As great as Ayo is, I tend to think this is a team that required many parts to get here. Without Kofi I'm not sure Ayo or this team would have had this much success. And supporting Ayo and Kofi were Frazier and Grandison, rarely given much attention but integral to the results.
And don't even get me started on Curbelo off the bench. And freshman Miller who never gets any credit.

It was a basketball play. Happens in every game all game long. It's an overreaction by the player to sell the foul. Should've been a no call.I didn't think that was a dirty play from Damonte. A foul, yes. Gave him a forearm on a boxout, not in the face but in the high upper chest, and the Iowa player sold it well as something flagrant.
That being said, I'm not going to lie, when the refs went to go to the cameras my first thought was wondering whether Damonte was involved.
My father and I have a man crush on Curbelos game. The dude just has “it”.My love for Curbelo's game has no bounds.
YesMy love for Curbelo's game has no bounds.
It’s a big nothing burger. Da’Monte’s role is to be the enforcer.I love Damonte and I'm not saying he's dirty, but it seems to happen to him an awful lot. If it was any other player on the team, I wouldn't comment, but Damonte has been in more than his fair share of situations like that.
He is so electric, even his turnovers are hyperbolized. Ayo has had high turnover games, and we can tend to minimize them. Not throwing shade, just saying if Curbelo made a few of the turnovers Ayo did today, many would be lighting him up right now.My love for Curbelo's game has no bounds.
I tried to name my new puppies Ayo and Kofi. The wife just gave me the look and rolled her eyes.I wish I could have pushed that through for a middle name somewhere
His name is pretty long already, Isaiah James Dale DuPage Ely but why not add to it? Isaiah James Dale Ayo Kofi DuPage ElyI tried to name my new puppies Ayo and Kofi. The wife just gave me the look and rolled her eyes.
