Curbelo is a future All American and lottery pick....but make zero mistake about this......we are here now, in this position, for one reason...and one man only.

Interesting take. I'm not sure I would say "one man only." As great as Ayo is, I tend to think this is a team that required many parts to get here. Without Kofi I'm not sure Ayo or this team would have had this much success. And supporting Ayo and Kofi were Frazier and Grandison, rarely given much attention but integral to the results.

And don't even get me started on Curbelo off the bench. And freshman Miller who never gets any credit.

Pretty sure he’s saying Ayo’s commitment to Illinois changed our trajectory and started this whole thing in motion.

Yes, it's a team effort, but we wouldn't be here without Ayo.

Certainly his commitment changed years of misses, particularly in Chicago. Nice article on SB Nation about that.

I'm not taking anything away from Ayo.

You missed the point entirely.

that's a lot of dancin....but this team is fully capable of doin a lot of dancin and taking us to that land that we all want to go to....
Kofi showed who the best center in the B1G really is....
Ayo with 19 pts and 8 assists
Belo was ELECTRIC today ...as Brad just said , great on both ends today
Brad also praised Adam on his D on CJ Fredrickson
Trent was solid today and stuffed Bohannon's shot there at the end
Jake G. was solid and got a great alley-oop from Ayo
DMW with a ton of rebounds and that foul at the end was all Oscar winning from Fran JR....
BBV was solid in his 3-4 mins while we were in foul difficulty

2 down and 7 to go....KEEP CHOPPIN WOOD ILLINI ....WE ARE ALL BEHIND YOU ALL THE WAY...

I LOVE THIS TEAM FROM COACHES, PLAYERS ALL THE WAY TO MGR'S , ETC.........

I didn't think that was a dirty play from Damonte. A foul, yes. Gave him a forearm on a boxout, not in the face but in the high upper chest, and the Iowa player sold it well as something flagrant.

That being said, I'm not going to lie, when the refs went to go to the cameras my first thought was wondering whether Damonte was involved.
It was a basketball play. Happens in every game all game long. It's an overreaction by the player to sell the foul. Should've been a no call.

I love Damonte and I'm not saying he's dirty, but it seems to happen to him an awful lot. If it was any other player on the team, I wouldn't comment, but Damonte has been in more than his fair share of situations like that.
It’s a big nothing burger. Da’Monte’s role is to be the enforcer.

My love for Curbelo's game has no bounds.
He is so electric, even his turnovers are hyperbolized. Ayo has had high turnover games, and we can tend to minimize them. Not throwing shade, just saying if Curbelo made a few of the turnovers Ayo did today, many would be lighting him up right now.

I tried to name my new puppies Ayo and Kofi. The wife just gave me the look and rolled her eyes.
His name is pretty long already, Isaiah James Dale DuPage Ely but why not add to it? Isaiah James Dale Ayo Kofi DuPage Ely

If we get 7 more wins that onesie will find a way to turn into something that he will be required to wear for all Illinois games from here on out.

II'm calling for Baby Isaiah to become the new mascot around here.
