Illinois 97, Michigan 68 Postgame

I got off the train from Chicago and walked to the Esquire in downtown Champaign to watch the game and grab food and a drink. It was packed and standing room only. I went around to every other bar downtown and not a single other bar ponied up for Peacock. Every one of those bars was completely and utterly empty. Wild that the owners wouldn't pay a couple of bucks to be able to show the games that are on Peacock. The wife and I would have spent easily enough ourselves to more than cover the subscription for a few months.
I think (but don’t know) that bars pay a much higher rate. Still stupid not to pony up the money, even if it’s a couple hundred bucks.

This was TJ’s best game back. The most impressive play to me was not any of the 3s but that crossover and drive on Llewelyn for the and-1. He needs to have a handle in the half court. That was the most slowed down the game has looked for him since his return to me.

It all starts defensively ... The offense comes so easy to him ... We don't have to force it or run anything to him ...

If he defends like that ... Teams will really struggle against us ...

And it really heats up the break....where we can totally dominate.

I still wish the guys would cut baseline more often when they double up CoHawk or Domask. Several chances for quick passes or lobs if TSJ cuts to the basket instead of camping on the 3pt line. But I guess when you shoot 60% from there.....you start a fire and pitch a tent!

After that postgame with Juwan, even though Brad owns him, I might be happy if he’s fired at the end of the season.

What are the chances he gets back into All American contention?
