Wow step away for a few days to move and see this great news. Love to get skill position players committed early. They can recruit players all season and it's really nice to have a FL and an ESTL commit. Good work coaches keep it up. :shield:

I am excited about these guys as all of you, but let's temper these expectations a bit. Yes they are two four stars, three when you add Moran, but the big boys sign four and five star guys each year AND they run behind multiple four and five star OL.

I know I am a kol joy, but I see these wild expectations every year in bball and now football.

These two early commits are huge. Kudos to the staff. We are stacking talent (at RB & QB, anyway). Who'd have thunk? Hopefully these kids can work the class, like Dre. Gotta bring in some big nasties.

Agree wholeheartedly that we definitely need solid O-line guys for this team, but can we please get excited about locking in three high-level commits early in a class at key skill positions, something we haven't seen in a good 6 years or so? Pretty please? Thanks.

I haven't heard about any (sane) fans booking Rose Bowl tickets or even BIG Championship tickets, have you?

Fans are right to be very happy about the recent commits. I think most understand that the team has a long way to go.

At worst, it is not bad news. I think given what most would consider to be the shaky status of the staff, this has to be considered very good news.

+1 For a staff whose approval rating is much lower than even Obama, you have to really applaud them for their effort & ability to close on players of this caliber

So it's nice that we keep getting offensive recruits and all, but our offense isn't our issue, it's defense. Any news on a 4 star defensive lineman, linebacker, cb committing soon? That's our needs. We want lots of 4 stars all over, but our d is the NEED!

So I saw that Dwayne Hendrix visited Pitt last weekend. Any chance he visits us? Have we evened reach out? Would be a phenomenal pick up in my mind. He would probably start day 1 after his sit out year as a redshirt sophomore.

And of course Tim Salem was recruiting him for us, he's now coaching @Pitt

I would guess he does eventually.

no, but assuming Hendrix doesn't have something against Salem:noidea:, that can only increase Pitt's chances & us minus our primary connection to him during his recruitment would only hurt our chances...that's why I pointed it out

Getting really strong and exciting on one side of the ball is one way to start building a program. It could be a path to consistent bowl games which can eventually be translated into better overall recruiting.

Two guys is not enough to do this, but the tone of this program has really turned over the course of the last year, starting with a few good commits last year.
