Per CSN Chicago - Sam Brodner is opening up his recruiting (previously verballed to Vandy)... considering Illinois, Syracuse, Iowa (who has yet to offer).

Illinois was runner-up in his initial summer decision.

Will end up at Iowa if they offer.

Freaking take the guy. Illinois Gatorade POY, smart kid, goes to Glenbard West.. this was a no brainer, and the staff screwed up by not taking him the first time around because they thought they were "full" at his position.

Him and Singletary would be a good running back duo. I like that as a backup plan to Moran playing around with us

You can never have too many RBs. Brodner brings POWER! And he can run a little bit too.

I didn't realize he is in my high school conference. Glenbard West back in the day use to be a big problem on the gridiron.

We recently offered Royce Newman from Nashville a TE projected as an OT who is committed to Mizzou. It now appears he is going to take some more visits. His main recruiter at Mizzou was Ricker. I know Nebraska is after him pretty hard, but I wouldn't be surprised if we recruited him a little more now that Ricker is on staff. 247 now has him as a 4-star.

Any word on why it took the staff so long to start pursuing this talented instate prospect?

So, Tre'Vour Simms has apparently recommitted to Illinois, according to Jeremy Werner and Simms' Twiiter account.

Like what I am seeing with both the coaching additions and recent recruit movements.. But someone needs to coach these young men recruits about what they share on twitter. Seriously you have an opportunity to play at Illinois and they're posting about some pretty Incredibly vulgar stuff. I see that and I'm completely turned off..

Let me clarify, there is one with a supposed offer from yesterday that needs to be looked at. Not anybody we have in the fold thankfully.

Just saw a tweet that Simms is still committed to Mizzou. Don't know what's going on with him.
It was tweeted by ESTL football. Sorry, don't know how to link it.
