I'm not rooting for anyone to leave, but it makes sense to lose some interior offensive lineman. There is such a log jam of players who haven't yet established themselves as starters but the coaching staff is throwing a lot of scholarships at the problem. I would be surprised if he's the only interior lineman to leave.

That’s why I would like to see them add solid rotational players like how Jack Badovinac was.

I support this team and any player wearing the Orange and Blue. I also support players seeking new opportunities. We lost players each season before NIL and before the transfer portal exploded and you had to sit out a season.

My glass is always half full with BB in charge of this program. We might be losing some players to the portal but also means we will adding new talent. Honestly it might clear the way to get more areas of need onto this roster quicker that can contribute next season.

That's fair. We return enough experience that the interior line should be improved next year. Inversely, we have to get as many tackles in the OL room as possible

Bret starts his 10 day recruiting trek today. Guy is working hard.
This program deserves some recruiting wins, so my fingers are crossed. People can say what they want about this year being a regress, but we DID lose a lot of talent to the NFL and we were in the vast majority of our games. Consider that Bret went 5-7 and then 8-4 (almost 10-2...) after this season in Lovie's last year:

L 45-7 at Wisconsin
L 31-24 vs. Purdue
L 41-14 vs. Minnesota
W 23-20 at Rutgers (3-6)
W 41-23 at Nebraska (3-5)
L 35-21 vs. Iowa
L 28-10 at Northwestern
L 56-21 at Penn State

Get some talent upgrades, and we will be golden.

Not surprised by Love leaving but hate to see him go. With the portal, the most likely guys to leave are those that are in second place on the depth chart, especially those that were starters at one point but see the handwriting on the wall for next year. They want to move somewhere they are more likely to be the starter. What we were not aware of before the portal, and wouldn't know until the first game, is now exposed by player decisions right after the season ends.

I think Love would’ve been our starter next year, but I think a combo of Feagin, McCray, Valentine, and the rest is a top half big ten RB room at worse.
