Matthews isn't nearly as good a shooter as Hill. Not as good a scorer, either. Better athlete, for sure. Better defensive potential.

Am not convinced CM is a better prospect that DJW.

This confirms my question mark of Cal's evaluation.:D

Maybe it's nobody has been taken in the first round. Webb was a 4th rounder back in the day.

Maybe. I think I was watching the NBA draft combine on TV when the commentators were talking about his weight. I don't know if it was since they moved to two rounds or what.

I'm far from convinced Ulis is a first rounder.

I've only seen one recent mock draft that doesn't have him in the top 20, and even then he was still in the first round. I guess this is the perfect time to go into the league as a small guard.

Why do I think Charles Matthews will fit in the 2016 scholarship picture in spite of our having 17 wings?:)

He wasn't SEC defensive player of the year or anything.

So I was curious and consulted my Wiki friend. It seems to be difficult to find a list of NCAA Defensive Player of the Year lists. But since Ulis also won SEC Player of the Year honors I used that criteria. I only checked the 10 previous winners of SEC POTY. 6 of them are currently still in the NBA. Of those 10, 4 were first rounders, 4 were 2nd rounders, and 2 were undrafted. 3 of them were point guards, but none of them were under 150lbs. So while a fair share of them have succeeded in the NBA, enough of them have not to make it a valid point to question whether Ulis is NBA material or not. Will he get drafted? Most certainly. Late first round is possible, but it will be his size that pushes him into the 2nd round if that is where he gets picked.

Is Matthews a better shooter than JCL and Jordan? Because those are our two shooting guards in next couple of years. If WF is the position and your not sure he is a better prospect than DJW. I'm not sure that DJW is a better WF than Kipper. From seeing the 3 on live games and you.tube, I think Kipper has the best motor and the best comparison to the way Malcolm Hill plays the 3 spot.

In regards to the Charlie Moore recruitment, sevreral sources around Chicago said Moore was looking for 30K from the school he was commiting to.

So his biggest flaw would be the thing to make him drop? I'm guessing any player that drops from where they are projected to go would drop due to their biggest weakness, not their strengths.

And if he rises in the draft, I would guess that it is due to his strengths as a floor general and toughness.
