Speaking of UV's, Malik Williams out of Ft. Wayne is on UV to FSU this weekend. Makes wonder how does a kid pay his own way from FT. Wayne to Talahassee.:D
We offered Williams back in September. He's a PF.

Checked out Manual and DW last night. Manual won but DW didn't ever take over the game like I expected the #39 recruit to do. He also didn't appear to play much PG. seemed like he spent a lot of time around the basket.

Williams still battles some consistency issues, particularly with his assertiveness. But when his motor is running and he’s playing aggressive, there may not be a better overall talent in the state.
And this is one thing I noticed having seen him 3 years at Pontiac on the Cube. Motor isn't always running full-tilt. Plus someone said he tweaked his knee in the 2nd quarter last night.

Previous reports have mentioned that Manual doesn't have a lot of height, so DMW spends a lot of time near the basket out of necessity.

Also, motor/consistency always seemed to be the knock on DJW too, but we haven't seen any of that this season.

Imo having a stable and potentially good, or at least high profile football program will only help bball recruiting

Agree 10000000%. Look what it's done for MSU. During a big game they have 5-10 big time recruits at the games.

I hate to say this as I like basketball more, but football is way more important to university success than basketball. Football will pay for everything sport with ease.

So Combes, is there any word on what the hold up is on making Tillman a non-silent (loud?) verbal commit? I'm assuming it was Groce's job security but now I guess I'm just wondering what kind of time line we're looking at here? Thanks in advance

Goodwin just picked up an Iowa offer for football... Shows how much his athleticism has improved in the last year

Basketball is his first love though right? If not Lovie get on this kid!!!

Yes, basketball is his sport, but he is a hell of a football player too. He has only played football for two years. I would certainly think he plays basketball in college.

So now that ADJW has solidified Groce and handled football in three days, how soon can he handle meeting with Tillman and his mom and getting him to buy in? :D

You have to think that the wonderful things happening on the football side have to have some impact here right? JW has made it known in spades that he isn't willing to settle for mediocrity and will do his best to help set up our coaches to win. I like it!
