Harry Froling, visiting actually this weekend (Sunday-Monday). Froling is taking consecutive visits so he will complete all his visits by next week. So probably a decision will follow shortly.

Boy, even the weather has it out for us. High 40's Friday and Saturday. Low 20's Sunday and Monday. Not exactly ideal for when you have an Aussie visiting. Not even a trace of snow for the Zooker to take him sledding.

Yup. Lousy circumstances for a visit.

Negron has made lots of visits but you are mistaken. He has publicly stated he is an Illinois Basketball FAN and is regularly seen sporting Illini gear. I believe the staff knows he is ours if we want him and that, combined with the fact that he really hasn't impressed much, is why the staff is holding off on pushing for a commitment.

I've spoken to him personally on a number of occasions and I can assure you that he isn't close to committing to Illinois or anywhere else. When I ask him what schools he is interested in, Illinois comes in 4th or 5th. I'm 100 percent sure that his offer is "committable"

I saw Negron play in person in Batavia. Hope we don't sign him. Think he'd be better off at a quality mid-major. Not a great offensive player. We can do a lot better than him.

You may be correct that he would be better at a quality mid-major but I haven't seen evidence that we can do "a lot better" than him other than Black. He's not a great offensive player but he's very athletic and an excellent rebounder and defender. This team needs to get much more athletic IMO.

I don't get it. What weather would be ideal for an Australian? It's January in Illinois so I don't think the weather can ever be a real selling point. Actually, any month's weather in Illinois wouldn't really be a selling point.

This is exactly what I am saying. Illinois likely feels they can get Negron whenever they want (IF they want him). That reason and also the fact that Negron hasn't impressed lately is why they are not putting on the full court press.

Negron has publicly stated he is an Illini fan and if their recruitment heated up, it would be hard to say no. You seem to know him personally though so maybe that is no longer the case.

Jordan Goodwin

I looked up Jordan Goodwin's stats on http://stats.stlhighschoolsports.com/sports/basketballboys/stats/teamstatoverall.php?t=2&s=665.

Outstanding to see that he is shooting 70% from the field considering he is not a big man that plays in the paint.

Something that bothers me is his Free Throw Percentage. He is 16-45 from the line. 35.6% I think free throws are something that you can easily work on and this number should greatly improve over the years. But, with Goodwin being a slasher he must improve this number, or he will get hacked every time he takes it to the hole.

A good comparison for Goodwin to me would be Roosevelt Jones for Butler. He played in the same area as Goodwin at O'Fallon IL HS. They are about the same body type and produce similar numbers.

Im guessing Illinois is 4th or 5th on his list because they aren't making him 1st or 2nd priority. Tilmon, Smith, Williams just in 17' are bigger priorities and if you throw in 16' Rako and Froling are also.

PG targets that we have misssed out on the last few years. This is depressing to look at. Just getting one of any of these guys would of made a HUGE difference.

Maurice Watson Jr. - 13.8 6.2(assists)

Shake Milton - 11.6 2.8

Demetrius Jackson - 16.4 4.9

Jawun Evans- 10.2 4.6

Jalen Brunson- 11.1 2.9

Q. Snider - 9.2 4.0

X. Rathan-Mayes- 12.4 5.6

Nic Moore - 15.9 4.9

On 247 they showed him going to AZ and Wisconsin next week after us...not sure if that's accurate. He'll rack up the FF miles.

Clearly the most depressing is Watson Jr, just from the standpoint alone that if we would have even recruited him for a second, then he might have strongly considered coming here. But we passed on him because he was too short (or some other lame reason). Groce really screwed up on that one. The rest of them was just a result of bad recruiting luck....except for Snider he was never coming here IMO. He was never leaving Louisville.

I think you might have confused Maurice Watson with Glynn Watson.

We were definitely in on Mo Watson early. Story at the time was we canceled a visit of some sort with him in order to go visit Bragg in home. I couldn't believe we would actually do that at the time, and still wonder what the heck happened there.

He is not going to Wisconsin, will visit Colorado instead. He will visit all schools back-to-back. He is flying over from Australia on a short trip to US, so it is understandable that he has scheduled all his visits together on a tight schedule. It is also pretty much guaranteed that he will take all his visits, so it is not realistic to expect an immediate announcement during any of his visits, unless it is his last one. Most likely scenario is that he takes all visits, goes back home and makes a decision shortly after.

Yeah , I don't think we offered Mo Watson? But he's tearing it up at Creighton. He's an example where his size in HS (5'9") probably kept him off most radars.

We did recruit him, but he was a recruit everyone missed out of HS. We recruited him along with Creighton and a few others as a transfer from BU. He actually killed us in the NIT game with his assists and critical plays, we barely pulled it off, thanks to some Rice heroics.

He had a visit set up but it was cancelled
