Anyway back on topic, other than drinking orange kool aid, why are some of you so confident with where we stand with Ayo?

For me, its the relationship that Chin Coleman has with MIF and the Irvin's. One of the biggest reasons that he got hired. Sounds like the Irvin's are either leading or are heavily involved in where Ayo goes to school.

Second, is the Charlie Moore recruitment. If you remember, it was first rumored Illinois would lead the chase to nab Moore. Then there were rumors that he chose Kansas because Ayo was a heavy lean to Illinois. Since they are very similar players, there isnt room for both on the same team. One reason why I dont think Kansas has much traction with Ayo.

Lastly, saw reports that Xavier was not front and center for many, if any, of Ayo's games this past weekend at Peach Jam. Illinois, OTOH, sent at least 1 coach and sometimes all 3 to each of his games. That usually tells volumes on the recruitment, especially at the biggest tournament of the summer.

BU and staff have made major effort on Ayo, sending offer to Tammell, and being in person. This Ayo commit is one I like to see done asap, then we would know what to do next. :illinois:

As would other recruits that are high on our list. If (not when!) Ayo commits, our other targets will need to decide quickly just how long they can wait on acceptance with only two (but possibly 3) spots available. What a two year recruiting coup that could be in Coach Underwood's first 6 months!

2017 NY2LA SPORTS SUMMER JAM DAY 1 RECAP

Khalil Whitney – 2019 – G/F – Mac Irvin Fire EYBL
The Chicago native who plays at Roselle Catholic (NJ) dominated his 16U game, then turned around and poured in 22 points against MBA Hoops Elite in the 17’s division Wednesday night. At 6’7, Whitney showed why he is a high major talent; with a great looking shooting stroke, he has the potential to become a long range threat and his athleticism and handle allow him to be dangerous off the dribble. Based off his performances Wednesday night, he will have a host of high major programs watching each game.

Where do you guys think we stand with Whitney? Any word on where he's leaning yet?

Not sure how he's leaning, but Mullins/St.Johns are making him their number 1 priority. Mullins has been following him around like a puppy dog this summer. With him playing in NJ, it might give them a little edge.

pay article but I would just say for those of you who think Ayo is a done deal, you might want to just tap the brakes a bit. [/FONT]

Mullin...sorry. Don't want to be the nitpicky guy but it's Mullin.

Going to repost this mainly to say that I've read elsewhere that Izzo and Underwood were present at the Oladipo Skills Camp yesterday to see THT. In reality it was an MSU asst and Jamall.

A prospect that has shown that no ceiling exists when it comes to his development, Talen Horton-Tucker has continued to make major strides both with his body and game. The total package at the small forward position, the top-150 recruit began his story as a lightly recruited regional prospect and now sits with offers from some of the top programs nationwide.
Sporting Georges Niang-like abilities as a point-forward, Michigan State was the latest to jump in with an offer. Dispatching an assistant to watch his lone outing on Wednesday, Horton-Tucker finished with a cool 22 points off of eight of 12 shooting from the field. A more cut list is expected next month as a group consisting of Florida State, UNLV, Iowa State, DePaul, MSU, Northwestern, Illinois, Purdue, Xavier and Ohio State is likely to make it through to the next round.

Or maybe we understand the game and realize he is still going to give lip service to other schools and take visits. Because why wouldn't you.

Conditt owning Castleton is a bit surprising. Actually, more than a bit.
