Webster Groves (25-4) gives Chaminade (25-1) their first loss of the season. Webster Groves had been ranked #6 in MO large-school class 5 rankings and Chaminade had been ranked #1.

Underwood back in Peoria for Liddell’s game. Wish he would have gone to watch Ramey play instead.

Had he gone to Ramey’s game, people would have jumped on him for not going to Liddell’s game.

Underwood went to Peoria to see Ayo, EJ, and Adam Miller. He’s casting a wider net in Peoria, than he would have going to the Missouri finals. Not to mention he just got back to Illinois, after being in the TV studio for the first round of the tournament.

We need Adam miller

Don't like the quote from Irvin about Adam Miller "He's a one & done" I know he likes to hype his players, but don't tell a soph in high school that he's one & done. AM is super talented, but there's a long way to go for that to become reality, & who knows what the draft rule will be

agree its not productive hype. seems like alot fewer smaller guards are one and done....6'6+ with freak athleticism seems to have better chance.

Brunson was/is awesome...#2 or whatever in the class and wasnt one and done.

Not a big deal. I am sure making it to the NBA asap is Miller's goal whenever that is. That's Irvin. He's a big personality and I guess people like it or not. Watch him coach sometime. It would be tough to be a referee in a heated game with him. He's going to hype his guys and that's ok. He's probably right about Miller especially if Miller keeps growing in his game. He's a sophomore who looks like he is more talented than everyone else on the floor and could already dominate a game if given the opportunity. He played with Ayo this year but next year he'll be the guy for Morgan Park. He's a man among boys out there.

Why? I'm not so sure it would look that great for the Illinois coach to skip the Illinois state tourney where he has one committed player playing and at least 2 other major recruiting targets playing so he can go watch the Missouri state tournament for 1 player. IDK...

Agree. For better or worse I would prefer we focus on recruiting Illinois first.

To build on this, don’t underestimate the amount of relationship building that can happen with other coaches. A lot of hs coaches go to their state finals, so it is an opportunity to talk to them if possible, or at the very least, be visible.

And they could have just seen BU on TV. I am sure they watch the tourney. Tells both players and high school coaches how committed he is to Illinois HS basketball.

Not sure if it will happen, but many have stated UI lost a recruiting tool when tourney left Champaign. In todays world if travel AAU not sure it would have same impact as it did 20-30 years ago. But I think it is worth pursueing ad part of other sport development efforts (hockey).

I agree. He went where he should. I think it is too optimistic to expect to get both Ramey and Liddell. But, 1 of them is a must. Liddell is only a junior. Wow! He is going to be a star.

Based on his first year he is 3 for 5 giving him credit for Frazier and Williams.

Trice, Jones, Kane and Ayo bring a different level of athletic ability but not sure it will bring immediate success. Maybe with a Corp of experienced existing players the learning curve will be quicker.

Most would agree with you. I think those talents mixed with what we have would bring some big wins and a NCAA bid.
