I *think* losing a kid to Georgia is how we ended up with Kendall Gill. My memory is very hazy on that and combes may want to clarify but if I recall some kid ended up at Georgia and we took Kendall as the last guy in that class.
But with my memory I wouldn't bet anything on it.
You're close. We lost Michael Christian, from Denver, to Georgia Tech. We then "settled" for Kendall Gill. Christian later suffered a bad broken leg, never panned out. Kendall was the Big Ten's leading scorer as a senior.

yeah, kinda close. Michael Christian/Litterial Green. Georgia/Georgia Tech.
About as good as I can hope for 30+ years later.

I'm more concerned that Illinois isn't in the final two. He has Georgia v. Illinois, VT v. Georgia St. in his bracket. Seeing as how he will be on his Georgia visit, I doubt he will be eliminating Georgia. Hopefully, he does not stick to the current bracket set up. :(

If you look at the brackets, you will notice that when he cut it down to the Elite Eight Illinois and Georia were in the same Bracket. When he made the bracket with the Final Four, he swapped Georgia and UConn in the brackets and had Illinois beating UConn and Georgia beating Florida State.

I seems the bracket can change...It will be intereseting to see who the final two are. Many seem to think it is VT and Illinois, but he insists that he is going to Georgia this weekend. So it will be interesting to see who is not in the Championship of the Bracket!

Nice, thanks! You have assuaged my fear (for now). :thumb:

Just as good, if not better, is the instant conversion of speculation into fact, and with the worst possible interpretation.

Example- Joe Henricksen says this:

Not only is "there is a feeling" a pretty watered down, mealy-mouthed attempt at an update...look at what immediately precedes it! Verbatim: Illinois remains the one to beat

That, of course, leads to this:

That statement did not say Illinois wasn't still leading with Ayo, but simply he is started to trend in the direction of Wake. A few posters all along have said Wake is a legit threat and when Henrickson says they are, you stop and listen. I don't think my interpretation of Henrickson was wrong at all. I would've been wrong if I said Illinois has no shot with Ayo or that the article said Wake is leading. I said neither of those things, simply that Ayo is trending with Wake. Which is in fact true. Hints his quote on how awesome his visit was at Wake

I'd feel more confident if there were 11 guesses for us and 1 guess for VT rather than the present 11 guesses for them and 1 guess for us.

This is compounded by the fact that he said he has known for weeks where he is going and weeks ago is when all of the crystal balls went to VT. If I could bet, I would bet he is going to VT.

I am trying to think of a group less well-suited to tackle a task than Loyalty posters trying to divine the meanings of Twitter and Instagram interactions between teens and college students.

The NCAA infractions committee... but it is a close call indeed.

Wow. I can't imagine him leaving Georgia off before he visits this weekend. Maybe we'll know early if we've got him or if we're done.

I think it's fairly safe to say that Georgia and Virginia Tech are battling it out unless he cancels this weekend's visit.

It seems like we will "know" where we stand tomorrow when he goes to two. If he puts Georgia and Va Tech in final two, obviously we are out. But if he changes his bracket to keep Georgia and us as final two, it seems we would be getting him, no? Otherwise, why not just keep the bracket as structured and put Georgia and Va Tech in final two.

If we're going to miss out on LN, I hope he eliminates us from his final four and not championship game. However, he probably knows how passionate our fans are and how much love we will give him on his way to the finals. Much more media and social media pub, if he keeps us in it.

I thought Nolley was visiting Georgia yesterday and today...?

Based on what? I don't think it's truly safe to say much of anything other than that his Final Four are Illinois, VT, UGA, and Georgia State. It's also probably relatively safe to say his final three are Illinois, VT, and UGA. Other than that, I don't think there's much else concrete to say here.

Thankfully, we're only 42% loony.

We could be 99% looney (I refuse to spell that word any way not supported by Looney Tunes) and we'd still be better than those boards.
