There was a time during our 3-month assistant coaching search last year where I was getting legitimately nervous. It felt like it could be another instance of us climbing so close to the peak of that mountain only to tumble back down again. Thankfully, BU and JW are incredible talent scouts and brought in, I'm not sure it's even arguable anymore, better assistants that can recruit their butts off. I'm incredibly excited about this year's recruiting class and I can't wait to see what else they have up their sleeves.
good point our new assistants are en fuego. 6 top recruits plus possible TSJ or Murray from portal. Our class ranking is up to #8.

Chester - Sencire Harris, Jayden Epps
Tim Anderson - Ty Rodgers, Skyy Clark
Greg Alexander -

Dainja Dain?
Morez Johnson?

Been here through the ups and downs. When the history of the Illini resurgence to relevance and prominence is written, Ayo’s place is at the front. BU has done a great job, but the most important piece is Ayo. His impact on the program has allowed our resurgence to skip that period where we would have been an up and coming bubble team.

Perfect World Situation…Don’t think it happens, BUT…
1. Ramey and Clark
2. RJ, Podz, Epps
3. Shannon, Goode, Harris
4. Hawkins, Rodgers
5. Kofi, Dainja, BBV

Lose - Lieb, Hutch, and Grandy
Obviously add - Ramey and TSJ

Also, I believe a veteran point guard is more important than a veteran backup Big.

IF TSJ joins, then we could have a fieldable team with just these '22 kids

By mid season, perhaps our 2nd team could be as good as our 1st

As long as Kofi comes back i dont see the need for another vet big. Hawkins is a fine 3rd string C

Agreed. Kofi-Dainja-BBV-Lieb is as good of a Center depth chart as you can find. And Hawk can help too. The key is getting Kofi back.
