That's correct. He's not a good ball-handler. He's an awful shooter from anything beyond 6 feet. Also a poor FT shooter. Hey, other than that, he's got the PG position down to a T.

I'd love for him to make a magical leap in his ball-handling and shooting abilities. But I think it's extremely unlikely, at least in a year's time.
I have a lot of confidence in skill development abilities of our staff.

I do not for one second think Ty will suddenly be taking many shots outside a few feet. I actually do think he took a single shot outside of few feet last year. That said he can for sure play bootie ball and pass. He can cause major issues if we actually surround him with shooters. I'm not expecting him to be our first, second, or even third option at point. I just think he can do it with the right guys around him. People are acting like some expect him to be Magic Johnson and that most certainly is not the case.

I can watch players decommit from UNC all day

We'll, it's not like players gave to worry about qualifying academically to get into UNC 🤬

We have two upperclassman PGs on the roster..
Actually, I don't believe the roster is officially set as of today. Are we sure those two are confirmed eligible for the upcoming season?

Convenient that Harmon has become a point guard now that everyone is concerned about not having one.
He’s not a PG. it’s just that he might be our “least bad” option there if Williams isn’t healthy (or eligible).

The roster isn't going to be set for awhile. We are waiting to see what Reeves does, situation with Harmon. Are we adding Reeves, plus another point? That is the question. Two spots would need to open. Couple major questions still to be answered and I dont see anything happening real soon. Why does all my posts have to have moderator approval? Been on here for years, just not understanding this.

Spot on WRT to Ty. That said, his lack of outside shooting is not going to be a killer because we have enough good shooters to have options. Plus, Rodgers' bread and butter when playing point is mid-range and going to the rack. And, hopefully, his shot and his handles are improved. Having a year under his belt could pay huge dividends. He's far from a conventional point, but he has skills that translate. Gonna be real interesting to see how this goes,
Yep that's what I saw as well. I watched a few of Ty's HS games when he was on that super all star team. He has a very nice mid-range floater, although he seemed to enjoy setting up his team mates more than scoring, then cleaning up misses. I'd like to see him shoot that floater more often this year.

Hopefully he's working hard on FTs and 3 pters
