Congrats to Whitman. I think any other AD hire we still have Cubit. Whitman came in with a plan and it only took him two days to complete. Must be the fastest something this positive has been done in a long long time.

This is just awesome, we finally have some hope going forward. The instant credibility and all the national talk is going to be great for recruiting. Josh Whitman is looking like the right man to get this sleeping giant awake again!

Well ESPN finally put something up on the hire. They are showing the pic of Whotman and Lovie. But no announcement yet.

Unreal. It's March and we're going nuts about Illinois football. In a POSITIVE manner. And the rest of the college football world is wondering WTF.

All Hail Josh Whitman! The Man with The Plan! The Chief is smiling!

From FightingIllini.com - "Smith and the UI have a six-year agreement calling for payments of $2 million annually for 2016 and 2017, $3 million for 2018, $4 million for 2019 and $5 million annually for both 2020 and 2021. He will have opportunities for performance incentives tied to team academic and athletic achievements."

I know he's only on his third day on the job and we have no idea what's a couple of years down the road, but I wanted to be the first to say...Rick WHO? Craig WHO??

As fast as things are now moving, is it too much to dream that in just a few years we may be in the NC Hunt? :illinois:

And I can remember Beckman telling me how excited he was that Marc Trestman was coming to speak to the team.

Now we can truly talk about the Coordinators....
& actually believe we could have a DREAM TEAM coaching staff!

I'm warming to this....definitely to the sudden, massive injection of excitement and exposure to the program.
