I’m sorry. I think my sarcasm was misunderstood. I TOTALLY agree with and understand honoring Mike Leach’s death with the name Mike and pirate on the Illini helmet. I don’t think the Illini needed to honor him with the dang cowbell…
Pretty sure that was an ‘official’ logo created or approved by MSU. It was painted on the field. The cow bell was not something the Illini made up themselves, I’m sure they asked MSU how best to honor him and that was the response.

I accidentally recorded the wrong telecast of the Michigan TCU game. It was 4 fools yelling at each other and adding nothing, yet they had cameras on them the entire time. Pain.

If you're talking about the Field Pass on ESPN2 with some of the guys from the Pat McAfee show that was actually pretty entertaining. Best moment of that broadcast was late in the 3rd quarter when RGIII got a call that his wife had went into labor and he had to leave.

That made great TV...lol

They were giving me a headache and I caught up to live, switched to the main cast. If I have a 75"TV, I prefer the game to be displayed that big vs. about 45". Guess I missed the charm, and the best part.

They're going to be doing it again on ESPN2 for the Championship Game on Monday (though I'd assume it'll be more McAfee and his main guys on his show for that one).

I can get if it's not everyone's thing but it's still entertaining to listen to alternate broadcasts like this.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but these kids are not playing the game for you. I would have advised my own kids to skip the game too. Really proud of the effort today and content with the outcome and season. Hopeful for the future rather than disappointed with what could have been.
Wait?! Not playing the game for the fans? I think many/most players would disagree with you. Incidentally, no fans, no financial support of any type.

That's a DIA concern.

The student athletes are in college for the same reason anyone goes: it presents the best chance to follow your desired career path. It just so happens that theirs is the NFL.

They come to appreciate the fans, but let's not delude ourselves into thinking we're the primary reason they pick a school. There are a good 4-5 factors ahead of us.

Not so, even student athletes in non-revenue sports get the same full scholarships.
