I did, but haven't played it yet. It's been a long week. I'll give my input when I get about 10-12 hours played on it.

The FIFA 15 Demo is sick. Best improvement on a video game series I've seen i in a while.

Everyone I know who has played it loves Destiny. One more week before I can get my hands on it.

Really? What's bad about Watchdogs? I thought all the videos I've watched looked cool and it takes place in Chicago.

I enjoyed Watch Dogs, but it is basically GTA + hacking people's personal info. It was nothing earth-shattering. I'm glad I bought a physical copy. I beat the game and then traded it in at Gamestop for $40.

Sweet. I probably will do the same. Maybe put the trade in towards a copy of gta5. I owned a Wii and then in college played my roommates 360. So I haven't really played a GTA game since 3 on my PS2.

Well - I did this a couple of months ago, so your return will likely be a bit less than that.

Sooo, those of you playing Destiny, what's it like? Battlefield 4 but more futuristic? I just started BF4 and boy am I bad at it! I never really get good at these sort of games but do enjoy playing them. MW3 for instance I've maxed out my guy at 80 in online play through pure perseverance, but I'm almost always last in kills/death ratio, like 4/15 lol. In survival I've gotten into wave 30 on a couple easy/normal maps usually cuz I'm playing with someone way better than I.

So is Destiny something I would enjoy?

I enjoy destiny despite the mixed reviews it is getting. It's a mash up if MMO, borderlands and halo.

There are separate track for PvP or PvE play. Playing the strikes and patrol events are fun. Basically it's you and a couple of other people just fighting off hordes of mobs in bullet hell.

It is the first FPS I have played since OG halo 2. So maybe since I haven't been playing too many FPS it is new and fresh to me.

If anyone wants to add me on psn - pinoygamer1 put ILL in the message so I know where you got my id

You on Xbox or PS? Your scores seem a lot like mine. :)

Thanks guys for the input. I've never played an MMO game but loved playing Halo and Borderlands2 so that is encouraging.

I know you can't do cross platform online gaming between Xbox and PS. But in a game such as Destiny can PS3's and PS4's play together?

PS3. Haha, that's funny. I have a great time playing but man! Lots of those players are GOOD! I seem to think they all have hacks/bots or are playing with modded controllers. At least that's what I tell myself so I don't get bummed about having to be carried by all the other players. :D I crack up when I see I've got 3 kills and 12 deaths and the top 3 guys all have 20 and even 30 kills with 5 deaths.

Okay, a little research and i've once again answered my own question (Come on posters, I'm trying to promote discussion here!). No you can't, but their reason is not something I buy. Just trying to promote new PS4 and Xbox1 sales is all it boils down to. But my response to that is, "Why put out PS3 and Xbox360 versions then?"

Well you can buy the Last Gen version and get the next gen version for free - http://www.destinythegame.com/digital-upgrade

and your progress will carry over.

I am having fun with the game but ymmv and video games are fluid.

For EA Subscription members, you can download and play the full FIFA 15 game today.

Let me just say... it's amazing. Best improvement year to year since I started playing the franchise.

That's exactly what I think! However, they play many hours per week whereas I play maybe 7 hours per week.

I binge play. I can play 4 hours a day for 4-5 days straight, then not play for a week or longer. No rhyme or reason to it.

I wonder, does your internet connection play a part in online play? I mean, could that be part of the reason some of these guys are so quick and I'm not? In the game i'm dead the instant I see them come around a corner, but on the killcam it shows them seeing me long before I see them and they pump 3-4 shots in me before I even get my first trigger pull. I just have plain old basic DSL and lagging seems to occur more then I would expect it to.

My modem status shows 2272/640Kbps, what does that even mean? :noidea:

Well, if anyone has a PS3 and wants to play my name is f8accompli save me to your friends and we'll kill some time. Here are all the games I've got and I'm not sure which ones allow for online co-op play outside of MW3 and BF4.

Uncharted 1 & 2
God of War Saga first 5 games I think?
Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One
COD MW3
Battlefield4
Skyrim
Resident Evil Gold and Racoon City
Conflict Denied Ops
Borderlands2
Assassins Creed Brotherhood
Final Fantasy XIII 1 & 2

I've had the Orange Box for 360 for a long time but just got around to playing Half Life 2 the past couple of days. Since I don't plan on getting an Xbox One for a little while I'll probably be going through old games I've had or that I got with this 360. I'm with you AZ, I'll play a lot for a while and then have a week or two with nothing. Kind of depends if I get started on an interesting game / how busy things are that particular week, for me.

Modem speed can definitely play a part, especially if one box acts as "host". Also, turbo controllers play a huge part as well. My connection here in the UK is pretty good but I don't have the turbo controller. Guys who seem to move faster than expected or shoot faster than expected most likely have a turbo controller.

You can do subtle things to your router as well, like buy an actual "gaming" router that doesn't slow down your ports when you play and others are using. Also, using a Cat-6 cable helps speed up data transfer as well (cheap).

#96
I am the only one on my modem when playing and I always shut down my computer when I play so there is no additional traffic. I've read several opinions online saying that a cable vs wireless in my situation offers no real increase. I had picked up a Netgear N90/WNDR4500 Dual Band router to tie in with my modem because I had heard the dual bands were best for gaming. But then I also read after getting it that adding a router for a single user is of no real benefit. I have not installed it yet to see if there was a difference. Are you a tech guy? Do you think this is wrong? Cat 6? Typo or is there such a thing.

I am not a tech guy - I just did a lot of searching of the internet and these are a couple of things I've picked up that are cheaper to maximize your speed. Ultimately, upload speed decides all. Cat 6 is real. It's just like USB 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, etc. It just transfers data faster.

This is absolutely false when it comes to online gaming. There's not all that much data that moves up and down. Ping rate is what really matters. It shows the reaction time of your connection to the server.

I did not realize that. Interesting.

Even so, wouldn't Internet speed make a difference still

Not really.

I've known people who have relatively slow speeds (~1 Mbps) with a high ping rate that can dominate online. Faster speeds are necessary for moving large amounts of data (Netflix, etc.). Also, as gaming moves more toward digital and away from physical copies of games, downloading the games from Sony / Microsoft will be much quicker with a higher-speed plan. But, once the game is downloaded, the amount of data that is transferred up/down during an online game is amazingly small (50-100 mb per hour).
