And then sit out the second half so Hamlin &Lieb can get some tick.
Image result for not sure if serious

I think BU is doing a great job of substituting throughout the game. Frazier and Ayo are playing ~34 minutes/game.

Grandison makes a couple shots, then gets whisked out of the bench. Hawkins scores from outside and gets a rebound, then Zoom! Banished to the sidelines. Same thing happened in football. Mike Epstein rips off a couple good runs, then they take him out. We punt.

Players see the court when they don't mess up on defense. Watch the beginning of the Nebraska game where Grandison got ABUSED the first three possessions and was on the bench before the first TV timeout. Play sound defense and you'll see the court. That's why our closing lineup includes DMFW. He is as sound as they come.

He didn't yell as much, but that was Lou Henson's system too. It got to the point than when a defender blew a switch that led to an easy basket, I'd instictively look toward the scorer's table.

In Improv, it is known as "Yes and..." If one thing is true, how do you heighten it for the next thing. If their center is gimpy, then Kofi will score 25 and 15. Yes, and he will do it all in the first half. Yes, and Hamlin and Lieb will man the five in the second half. I considered adding Yes and Edgar Padilla will get a dozen assists.

Meanwhile, IRL, I will be thrilled with a one point win even if means we play only a seven man rotation.

Illinois will have to step it up from their last two performances, and not play down to the level of the competition against Minny. To quote Carl Spackler (Bill Murray) from Caddyshack:

"Licensed to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. A man, free to kill gophers at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever.

Grandison does bring energy and quick hops for offensive rebounds, and had some success with high-low schemes, so if he's able to be more vigilant on D, he'll likely become a bigger & bigger asset with more time on the court. Also shooting 100% from the free throw line!

Bigger news is that Robbins is well less than 100%. Kofi should have 25 and 15
Kofi had 33 and 13 in the first game when Robbins was healthy. Of course he fouled out in 16 minutes.

This. The first 7 points that Nebraska scored were due to errors by Grandison.

I really hope they come focused. They way they have been playing, early Sat game, road, have to be mentally ready for this challenge

Grandison: you could be referring to the game where his man scored the first 9 points of the game. I think it was NEB.

Defensive consistency carries equal weight, if not more.

LOL. Here we go again. This game will go down to the wire. I would bet my beach house there will be no clearing the bench in this one. Have we not learned how this team is?

That highlight reel of Ayo hitting late clutch shots is missing one thing. A game winner when we're down. While a comfy win would be fun, I'd love to see one point down with a walk off buzzer beating drive to win.

The Gophers handed No. 3 Michigan its only loss of the season on Jan. 16, 75-57. They beat No. 4 Ohio State 77-60 on Jan. 3. No. 11 Iowa fell at The Barn on Christmas Day, 102-95 in overtime.
Minnesota is 13-1 at home but is without a road victory after an 0-8 start. The transformation the Gophers make between getting on and off of the road is hard to explain for Illinois head basketball coach Brad Underwood.

“I’m going to have to ask (Minnesota head coach Richard Pitino) what he does. If he feeds them or puts something in the water. I don’t know what it is, but they’re comfortable there,” Underwood said. “They play a little differently there and they are electric in transition at home. When you start looking at their points for games at home versus on the road, they have a tremendous comfort level with what they have done shooting-wise. Some teams have those unbelievable tendencies and they are a team that is one of those.”

. Stretches of poor play in games are not a concern for Underwood.

“That is the challenge of getting better. Go pick any game you want to watch and that’s just basketball,” he said. “When I talk about those inconsistencies (in our play), I talked about it because it’s areas that I want to get better in. I’m always trying to play the perfect game, but so is the other team. Every game has (those inconsistencies), and it is a part of basketball. That’s what drives me to get these guys to play better.”

An Illini win would do wonders to help me alleviate the tremendous back pain I am going through....Hence , my posting at 3 am.....

I'm not quite ready to yet make a prediction. But here's how the pessimistic side of me is viewing things:

- Consecutive tight games against lowly NEB and NW (home)
- Playing 5 of the final six on the road (Mich, OSU, MSU, Wisc, Minn)
- Michigan and OSU are #1 and #2 in the league
- Greg Gard is something like 80-18 at home in his Wisconsin coaching career
- Minn has lost only once at home all season

For the average team, that's pretty daunting

Yeah, it would be tough for Iowa.
