Brosky, you may want to ponder on this...I'm not as enthused about Curbelo as many others are. I don't consider him a good point guard due to his habit of dribbling without purpose into traffic and turning the ball over. He needs to learn discipline. For the most part though, I do enjoy watching him play. And speaking of watching, Plummer is now 42 of 43 on free throws. That's 98 percent, amigos. Not even Larry Bird logged that %.
When Belo is on the court our offense is different. He is not a great shooter yet but he can do some amazing things with the ball. I am giving him a pass for his performance earlier in the year knowing he was dealing with an injury. He did not look like himselfI thought the floor spacing was terrible at that time too. Too many players to close to the lane clogging things up. Granted, Belo needs to recognize that and adjust accordingly.
I, for one, am 75% snark.Take it from someone who at times has had a thin skin around here: 99% of the time the other person isn't trying to be snarky.
Most coaches in America of high major programs would probably prefer to not be ranked if you asked them. That tells you what truly matters.
110%I, for one, am 75% snark.
But Larry made his FT’s with less athleticism.I'm not as enthused about Curbelo as many others are. Well, if you're going to quote Paul's letters at me, what can I do?Brosky, you may want to ponder on this...

Belo's decisions that you are basing your judgement on are as a freshman and a concussion-affected sophomore. We all have heard that the best thing about freshmen is that they become sophomores. Let's see how Belo looks after he's well and playing.
You do realize that I added the "whatever", the intention of which was that I have no idea who exactly of all the sports writers and broadcasters actually vote. There are a lot of sports writers. Are they all voters? Apparently as Pruman added there are only 62 sports writers and broadcasters. So there are a total of only 62 sports writers and broadcasters in the entire US? I am guessing no, so those voters could still be influenced by other sports writers and broadcasters who do not have a vote. My posts tend to get too long as it is so do I actually have to explain every little detail. My posts would then become novellas.Uh... You do realize that the AP voters are the sports writers and broadcasters, right?

Gotta there’s a good chance we slip in after our two wins this week
I really like seeing Nebraska lose bad before we play them on the road. Hopefully keeps them down mentally instead of giving them a lot of hope going into our game. Normally don’t like to see this happen to a team before we go play them at their place , but I think this is good timing. Playing on the road against a team like Nebraska makes me more nervous than playing on the road against a good or top 25 team.Nebraska loses by 28.
How about getting the same consideration, from some on here, for Hawk.Brosky, you may want to ponder on this...

In order for Illini to be ranked, someone has to drop out. Which of these teams is most likely to be unranked next week? My vote is for CO State. Bad loss and very weak SOS.Update. Add:

Doesn’t help us much. In fact, this may hurt us because now Oklahoma should probably be ranked.#11 Iowa St about to lose
He needs to play his way back into the rotation first, then if he earns it, the starting lineup. At that point, the starting five may be a matter of matchups. About the only ones that are untouchable in the lineup are Trent (for his D) and Kofi.So when belo comes back who sits?

Somehow I doubt that. There are only 62 and they're likely held by national or regional guys and not team beat writers. Certainly not two from the same team.I don’t know who all the voters are, but I think Scott Richey and Jeremy Werner both have an AP top 25 vote.

So there's one. Werner doesn't have one, then. There is approximately 1 voter for every FBS program in a state in football. I don't know how that is modified in basketball but it's probably similar. And Richey covers college sports in the market for the only major program in the state so it makes some sense. I'm a little surprised it's not a Chicago writer but maybe we have more than one in basketball in IL.Scott Richey
