Not only is UCLA on a 7 game win streak, but during that stretch they are rated #1 in the country on Torvik.

That being said, I want to know how to get a schedule like theirs. 5 of 7 games at home, including a 3 game home stand, and the 2 away games are against inferior opponents.

I am wondering what the purpose of the gif is in THIS instance even, let alone whatever the original purpose might have been.....

Wouldn't it be great if we won the next two games? They are at home so we'll probably be favored both times. IMO, that would turn this ship around. BTW, I took a trip on Peacock and they have me with an active account, but aren't showing game watching options. If my acc't is still active, what's going on?

We were 9-16 on threes at Minny. I think that's what happens when you only take the shots with good, open looks. 16 is not a lot of attempts. BTW, some of those threes were courtesy of Riley, who was out of his mind this night.

I wonder what was the original purpose of this GIF. Weird
It’s found here among other historical NBC promo bumps. This one’s at the 22:23 mark and appears to have been an intro to, or perhaps a comedy bit from one of the network shows (SNL, perhaps?)

It would be great, and it would be interesting to see how our chances at a double bye in the BTT change if we do go 2-0 this week. Torvik currently gives us a 15% chance.

Man, TSJ bailed the offense out a TON. Almost all of those were off the dribble, tough, contested shots.
It really makes a difference when you have a player who can do this. There are times when the shot clock is at 5, and you just need to give the ball to a guy and say "bail us out".

I'll always contend that one of the reasons the 2004-05 Illini were so good was because that team was perfect for Bruce Weber's motion offense vision AND that they had TWO players who could create their own shots a lot in Williams and Head. It was almost the perfect set up. They ran the motion offense so well most of the time, and then if things bogged down either Head or Williams could get a shot off the bounce. So tough to stop.

Don’t want to like this but there are elements of truth here.
But there are also elements of truth to their strategy. You'd rather shut down a key linchpin in the opposing offense and take your chances with letting a low percentage shooter go to town than the other way around. And at the end of the game, we still won by 21 on the road after letting Odukale basically do what he wanted and holding Garcia to barely half his season average.

Still, it seems like Hamer (or whoever) takes this to an extreme at times in a way that ends up making some games against stronger overall teams closer than they need to be.

UCLA is 0-4 this year in games played west of the Rocky Mountains.

Vs North Carolina (in NY) (76-74)
At Nebraska (66-58)
At Maryland (79-61)
At Rutgers (75-68)

I think this is a game Illinois should win. The only thing UCLA does really well is not turn the ball over. But Illinois doesn’t force many turnovers anyway so don’t see that as much of an advantage.

I'm delighted that UCLA is now in the conference. Great program, will really enjoy regular match-ups and beating them. Maybe someday we'll repeat that West Coast swing right after New Year's and I'll enjoy the flight out to L.A. and back-to-back games in Pauley and v. USC.

It's all good, as the kidz say. Let's make Mick Cronin's maiden Bruin voyage into AH thoroughly unpleasant.

No specific answer, but FWIW we were in town for the Purdue football game in November 2022 and decided last minute to catch the Friday night basketball game where they were honoring the 2022 regular season championship. We were running later than we planned and got there right at game time, worried we’d miss the ceremony. However, we still waiting like 10+ minutes because they wanted a full crowd, lol.

Given we’re on Peacock and not waiting on another game like with cable, I’d wager they’ll delay to allow folks to get in their seats. But I can’t be positive, so best to be on time!
peecock is relatively an easy synch for those wanting to listen to Brian and Deon........but , DO NOT leave peecock to surf other things as peecock stops going forward and you pick up where you left......I tried this the first peecock game I had access to and had to watch & listen to peecock's halftime show and pause Brian B. then synch again.......If you just stay on peecock then you hardly ever need to re-synch.......Fox is the worst to need to re-synch as they slip 2-3 extra commercials in and the audio-video is usually off on media timeouts and halftime intermissions...............

ps......if trying to synch radio , please use the Varsity Network app and click listen on the web........the other radio feed that is in ad mins first post of the game thread didn't let me pause their feed to synch up so I went to using the varsity app on the first game and love it.........Just a FYI........It really really is......................

The new Krush needs to watch some “film” of the old Krush and really step up their game!

I had a thought this weekend regarding the Krush....

During games, they have the "Let's Make Some Noise" part in the second half where they have what I assume is a fake decibel reading to get people to start making noise. Would there be a way to set up a system to actually track sustained/average decibels throughout each game and incentivize higher sustained decibel readings?

For example, could you track individual attendance for a home season through an app, and there's a leader board tracking system for all individuals who attend games, and if they're in attendance for games that registers higher dB's, their is some sort of reward/incentive, such as:

• Priority seating for the next season, or for the first two rows of Orange Krush
• Arena discounts (drinks, food, merch, etc.)
• A local sponsor who pledges some level or rewards for top attendees (similar to McDonald's free throw nuggets)

Just a thought, had a long drive over the weekend so got fixated on trying to come up with a real solution besides "c'mon guys, get it together". God knows the university has enough Computer Science horsepower to get something stood up.

they are playing really good but they're due for a sub par game. Lets make it happen. My biggest concern? They don't turn it over.
Yeah but we also don’t force turnovers. Not really part of our strategy. We try and goad teams into taking contested 2s and limiting second chance opportunities.

On offense we are turnover prone at times and so more times than not lose the TO battle. But we even up possessions/shots via our offensive rebounding.

If we rebound at our usual rate and don’t have a turnover fest, the shot volumes should be about equal. And in an equal shot volume game I like our chances due to our positional size advantage. Kobe Johnson as good size at 6’6 but he can only guard one guy.
