Week 4 Games

Iowa is still good and don’t let the score fool you they fumbled early in the red zone had a punt hit one of their runners. Those two plays don’t equal 31 points but it did take the wind out of their sails

PSU D line destroyed their O Line most of the game which prevented Iowa from moving the ball. Iowa’s defense got tired towards the end
I'll have to take your word for it, because that box score is just about the ugliest, most lobsided I've ever seen, and would seem to indicate that one of the teams is not, in fact, good. :)

Coach Beckman, is that you?

Iowa got so utterly dominated in all facets of that game. It's not just a case of taking the wind out of their sails. They couldn't even put up yards (let alone points) for pride during garbage time.

Iowa has a really good defense. They're maybe the worst offense in the country.

Yeah, not sure how anyone could think Iowa has a good team after watchimg that performance. Iowa's offense is complete shambles. I can't recall ever seeing a team have the ball for more than 3 quarters, yet here we are.

Iowa got to 3-0 by beating terrible teams (and the first two wins were close games). The B1G West is wide open. Not sure I have ever collectively seen such a bad division before (and I thought last year was bad).

The B1G has to be happy with doing away the current division setup after this season, so maybe they can finally get a competitive B1G Championship Game.

In fairness, the B1G tried to avoid these lopsided divisions originally with Legends and Leaders, but the fanbases revolted. It might have worked.of they'd have picked a less pretentious name, like the Blue and White divisions.

Football is a game of momentum. The score was only 10-0 at halftime. Neither team truly moved the ball well in the first half. Iowa’s D got tired. I am not saying Iowa would have won or been within 2 scores

it took awhile to become a blowout.

Iowa’s D got tired because they were on the field the vast majority of the game, a direct result of having no offense. Even the best defenses crumble eventually without an offense to give them a break. That’s how 2nd half collapses occur. Nepotism has given them an incredibly unbalanced team.

10-0 with that Iowa offense is a blowout, IMO. The game felt over at halftime. Unless their defense scored a touchdown, there was no way they were scoring. That is a sign of a pretty bad team.

I was at this game in 1992 and I specifically remember feeling overconfident at the end of the 3rd quarter, recognizing that it would take three fourth-quarter touchdowns (UNTHINKABLE!) for Northwestern to beat us. It was a terrible walk out of the stadium that day.

Not looking good, but do we really want Iowa to get a new OC?
If we go into that game at 3-7 or something, almost hope Iowa scores 35 on us or whatever they need to get to the 300 pace just so Iowa would have to keep its offensive coordinator.

We definitely don't want them to get a new OC. It's like when Izzo didn't want us to get a new basketball coach when Bruce was here. (though we managed to screw up that first change)

I'm tired of the Prime lovefest. I want to see that be a 35 point game by halftime.

The lovefest is what I find annoying. The media have made the season about a 3-1 team that may very likely be 3-2 this time next week, and potentially 3-3 the week after that.

That was always one the more amusing fan theories on here as it just didn't align with reality. I mean you'd think Izzo would want to keep around coaches around who he had a great winning percentage against instead of a .500 record (better than most coaches against him). I also recall it going so far that fans were saying Izzo was telling his team to purposely lose to us so we would keep Weber. Just funny stuff. Fans really hated Weber those final years...

yea
that was made up drama
it was nothing more than Izzo & Weber were/are friends who respected each other on & off the court . Izzo just didn’t want Weber to be treated unfairly .

I have no problem with Deon as a coach. As a player on punt returns he annoyed me because he was smart and didn’t a hit. I liked him when he played for Atlanta and he backed his talk

The only way to rebuild a 1-11 team is to gut it. With the transfer rules it is easier than before and when you bring a group of talented players in you can win against average teams

I want to see if he can develop players. He is going to talk because that is what he does I want to see what he can do after his son and Hunter play. The Big 12 is open to win next year with UT and OU leaving
