Maybe I'm just an old curmudgeon but I just didn't take that much positive out of yesterday's game
I completely agree. Those projecting postivity on to yesterday's performance are simply trying to salvage expectations that this season won't be lost. They will be rudely disappointed.
Against a poor defense, at home, the Bears' offense looked shallow. That final touchdown--a stat-padding misconception, which is a Cutler trademark--was handed to the Bears in the name of time consumption.
I disagree. The offense moved the ball very well, just couldn't finish. 2 field goals inside the 10 and turning the ball over on downs from inside the 5. Those will be touchdowns in the future. Cutler and Gase will continue to learn from each other and figure out how to finish drives. And Jeffery will be better once he's healthy.
Plus, Fox has the perfect game plan and it was executed almost perfectly. Keep Rodgers off the field. If we finish drives we win that game, or at least have a chance at the end.
First of all, coming up with that game plan wasn't exactly rocket science. What team doesn't try to control time of possession against Rodgers? We've heard it a million times before. Not to mention the Packers D is terrible so moving the ball on them (just like they did at home last year) is not a total surprise. Also the Packers did not play well with ten penalties. Did the game plan also include no pressure on Rodgers, allowing him to have a 140.5 QB rating, and allowing the Packers 6.1 yards per play?
It's the best offense in the NFL vs one of the worst defenses in the NFL. There is no coach on the planet that would've done much better with the talent on defense right now. Fuller is really the only guy who can make plays.
BEARS are going to beat AZ getting points at home
I don't see a way this team wins more than 4 or 5 games.

That might be optimistic. We will see how they match up against the Raiders in two weeks but who else is worse than this team. Titans perhaps? Saints and Lions look bad but at least Saints have a Hall of Fame quarterback.
It will be interesting to see how this new staff reacts to this situation. Fox and his coaches have a lot of experience and they were already making personnel moves during the Cardinals game. Will this bad start just snowball, or can this team rebound? Is there enough talent to rebound?
