The defense looked much better yesterday. Especially the d-line. We would've had a chance to win that game with Jay.

In the first half, I was telling myself the same thing. However, Jay is not on kickoff coverage.
I really think Jay will have to be back next year, unless they can get a retread that is decent at half the cost. His contract gets more team friendly going forward. There is no "Andrew Luck" in the draft this year according to the experts. I think the Bears will have to draft someone to sit and season for 2-3 years. Build the rest of the team, let Jay continue until the draftee is ready. Then trade Jay and his friendly contract and draft another for seasoning.

About a dozen more trades like this and we might have a productive draft class next year.
God! He was awful with the Bears. I would have taken the same bet the Bears did, but in retrospect, they just should have kept Peppers.

I don't know about that-I didn't exactly see any receivers running open during the game-probably could have had Tom Brady at qb and still lost. Cutler probably would have thrown some int's.
To be totally honest id rather us pick up Tebow and throw him out there than see Clausen again.
And there goes bostic. They're going full tank.
Something needed done. Get some young guys in there, get some speed, maybe get one good veteran to lead the D. See what happens.

Was never a fan of the signing. Wonder what his % of his sacks were against the bears. We certainly padded his numbers.
Allen never had a season with less than 11 sacks. I don't think he's even gotten close to that since we signed him.
I thought he was younger than Peppers and had been better than Peppers over the last couple years. Releasing Peppers and signing Allen made sense to me at the time.

I didn't. I thought it was a good switch, Peppers would have cost $16M for 1 year, if memory serves. Obviously, didn't work out too well.

So, now he'll become a pro bowler, because they'll have a coach that can figure out how to use him? I would hate that. I had high hopes for him.
I had hopes for Bostic too. Oh well. Like I said, let's see if we can get speed out there.
They just cut Vereen and added 2 guys I've never heard of.

I would like to see David Fales given a chance before Clausen gets trotted out there again. Not sure what difference it will make though given the injuries to our receiving corps.

Kind of amazing how many times we've seen Cutler play a fine game but always ends up throwing a horrible interception. Also whenever you see Jeff Triplette and his crew officiate an NFL game you know they are always going to do a terrible job and today is no exception.
