So what happened? Was there a different angle that showed he wasn't on the bag yet, or maybe he popped off the bag after initially touching the bag? Just curious, because the TV replays looked obviously safe to the entire world.

One angle distinctly showed the glove tagging the toe before the heel touched the bag. This didn't show up on any other angle I saw. Weird. Kind of how a magician fools you into not seeing what he's doing. My bigger point was and still is that Wong had himself in a terrible position. His head gets spun around way to often.

Yeah, hopefully he matures some more yet... he's still young, but has all the tools if he can play the right way

Another V today (V for victory). Keep em coming.

Another great home stand in the books :frustrated:

On the bright side, if they do squeak into the playoffs, they won't have home field (dis)advantage against anyone. Let's hope this 9 game road stretch helps out.

Lose the lead late, get it back late. A win is a win, I guess.

I'm a Cubs fan for the next few days. They need to beat up on the Pirates.

Yeah. Awful tough pulling for the Cubs, even when it's "necessary".

I live in the suburbs of Chicago, grew up around here too. I keep thinking that my friends deserve to see their team win for once. But then they get all obnoxious, and I re-think that thought. :D

The Bartman year I really tried to convince myself to root for the Cubs in the playoffs. I mean I have numerous good friends, relatives (on the wife's side) and even one son that are Cubs fans. However, when it came down to watching the games I found myself just hoping they would lose every game and was disappointed whenever they won. I think it just runs too deep!

I went to bed during the Bartman game with the Cubs up, couldn't bear to watch them go to the WS. Woke up the next morning to quite the surprise.

I did the same thing but with the Cards game 6 in 2011. Couldn't watch them lose but woke up very happy and surprised.

1984 Cubs went up two games to none over the Padres in a best of five to meet the Tigers in the WS. A Cubs - Tigers WS sounded classic so hey, Go Cubs! You know how that worked out.

I also can no longer enjoy any Cubs win. No malice actually, just, well they're Cubs.

The bad news: The Mets, with an easy remaining schedule, are only 1 game behind the Cardinals for the 2nd wild card spot. The good news: The Birds are only one half game behind Giants for the FIRST wild card spot.

I looked it up indirectly a few days ago and, if memory serves, 25 = NL record and 27 = MLB record. This is a far cry from Whitey ball and more fun, imho.

Correct. The 2002 Rangers hold the AL record with 27, and the 2016 Padres and 1998 Braves share the NL record with 25.

Didn't take long tonight! 25 straight games now. Yadi Grand Slam in the 1st.

Hopefully this lets Weaver relax and do his thing. We haven't given him much run support in his previous starts.
