Strange move by OSU. This may, however, help them keep their roster together. At least what is left of their roster.

Maybe he told them it was his "dream job". That seems to carry a lot of weight with them...

Sorry it was mean and I am a bad person.:(

Lol at SU and Cal. Wow.

Underwood redeemed even more as their AD gets more and more exposed.

If I've learned anything the last 5 years as both a cubs and Illinois fan it's that the front office of your organization really matters. I am so relieved to have Whitman. Even if every move doesn't end up being perfect, he knows how to run the department

Meant to ask, does Malcolm have a brother? We could then have the Hill Brothers playing here!

I agree. My belief is that most people don't add or subtract from the original blueblood list that was given long ago. I believe the list should be forgotten and a list of relevant programs take it's place. That list should be updated every 15 or 20 years.

Every 5 years. You overestimate people's attention span.

Maybe Gotlieb wasn't willing to accept a low offer? Pair that with Ok St operating out of fear of getting burned again. I wonder if this will finally lead to an AD change.

If he lives by his word, I'm disappointed. He is the coach I wanted there. I just don't think he is all that good.

Agreed. I think Whitman is great for Illinois. He's setting up a strong foundation for years to come. Even Jarrence Howard agrees with the hire of BU. I would've been okay with him hiring Snacks as head coach but for now it was a better choice to lure BU with his proven winning ability as head coach. Here is a nice read on Snacks however. Sounds like he's ready to take the next step.... http://www.chicagotribune.com/sport...ansas-final-four-spt-0325-20170324-story.html

Ok that makes more sense.

To me it's kind of curious that Jerrance hasn't tried to become a head coach somewhere smaller yet...

Yeah. This is the problem with The Jerrance argument (and Gotlieb). If a major head coaching job is truly in their aspirations, they would land a lesser HC job first.
