Expecting everyone in Winston-Salem to root for Wake Forest is like expecting everyone in Chicago to root for Northwestern. Having lived in North Carolina, my experience is that WF has a fan base about as big as Northwestern's and is similarly disregarded by the general public.

I agree with you. I wasn't trying to make that argument. Just thought there would be more considering the size of Winston-Salem. It's not a college town like C-U but not large by any means.

It's maddening to me that so many confident or even guarantee statements are being thrown around on this site after all we've been through!

Eh, you can't control what anyone else does, and hoping or asking for it won't work. Instead, control what your reaction is to it. Just ignore the folks who make prognostications. If they are right or wrong, it won't matter. Don't give them the power to make you upset.

I’ve heard some conflicting info on him. But I have a feeling that someone very influential in his recruitment doesn’t want him playing with Ayo. I don’t think he has a problem with it though. If he makes it to campus though and it’s his last visit then that’s give me more hope than I have now. They are definitely assessing all situations.

Wonder how it would be if Ayo commits later this week, and then comes down this weekend to spend a little time with THT and the current team, to talk up how good they could all be together, to make it clear how much they want and respect THT.

Probably won't happen, I know.

Illinois is 35-11 in the NCAA tournament since 2000 and hasn't been to the NCAA tournament since 2013.
Wake Forest is 6-7 in the NCAA tournament since 2000 and hasn't been to the NCAA tournament since 2010.

Neither program has been competing for an NCAA Championship for a few years.
They're all full of crap over there on their board.

The academic rankings aren't even close. According to the World University Rankings, the UI is 36th, Wake Forest is 294th. The UI ranks 16th in the world in engineering, 18th in computer science, 21st in physical sciences, 24th in the world in Nobel Prize winners and is #1 in the BIG in all 4 areas. I have been to Wake's campus many times. I like ours better.

Is there a link showing those stats? I have a hard time believing Wake is academically ranked #294...no way it is that low.

You're right. I used my phone calculator so I probably added 11 instead of 1. And who the hell knows. 17 tourney wins. And maybe the ESPN page I looked at wasn't updated from the spring. My bad.
