Good call on palcho!Marchese got it. Werner speculated wildly that badovinac and palcho are two possibilities. And palcho played in an after season game.
Nice! This will be a BIG help! Feeling much better on the O line now. Probably need 1 more.
It's wild how many superseniors stayed to play for Bielema this past year with a coaching change, our poor results, and the transfer portal being an option. Players must really like the guy.

H------UUUUUUUU--------GGGGGGGG--------EEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First we have to recruit some 4 star players. None in this first class.Yeah he may do well at developing these guys. Hopefully we perform well in the best future, become a more attractive destination, and develop some 4 star players
I read somewhere that Badovinic is out of eligibility.Marchese got it. Werner speculated wildly that badovinac and palcho are two possibilities. And palcho played in an after season game.
So was Palcho.I read somewhere that Badovinic is out of eligibility.
Palcho granted another year due to injury? So was Palcho.
In 2020 and 2021 seasons he didn’t play more than 4 games and he never used the red shirt rule so they appealed to go ahead take it.Palcho granted another year due to injury?
Palcho makes us better. So happy for him...and us.In 2020 and 2021 seasons he didn’t play more than 4 games and he never used the red shirt rule so they appealed to go ahead take it.
Not that I understand this stuff, but I don’t see how he gets another year. He’s played in 5 seasons. 3 plus the covid year when he only got 2 games at Colgate. But I don’t see how he can take a redshirt in 2020 and then take an extra covid year also. 2021 was his extra year.So we are still perhaps waiting to hear on an extra year for Badinovac?
I agree with this. I found something that said he started in 31 of 34 games at Colgate. That equates to three full years, plus their 2-game Covid year of 2020, I do believe. Not that I understand this stuff, but I don’t see how he gets another year. OL is the hardest position to play as a true freshman. I would not be worried until it is year 3 if he is still not being a contributor. I think the Lovie era got us too used to seeing young linemen thrown to the wolves. Not a good spot to be in.Anyone know the scoop on Wisecarver? He was one of our highest rated OL recruits over the years. Think he will make an impact by next year?
I thought Palcho started all 12 games in 2021. If he played only 4 games or less, he could have counted that as his redshirt year and wouldn't have needed to get a waiver. My understanding where the waiver came in was that he was injured in 2020, the "free" year, and Illinois asked why can't he get a waiver to get his free year back. It was a precedent set with Michael Marchese. In 2020 and 2021 seasons he didn’t play more than 4 games and he never used the red shirt rule so they appealed to go ahead take it.
According to this he only played 4 games in 2020 and 3 games last year: https://fightingillini.com/sports/football/roster/alex-palczewski/12205I thought Palcho started all 12 games in 2021.
