Yeah, talent only takes you 1/3 of the way. It's also part emotional (keep your feelings together) and part mental (knowing what to do before the situation presents itself). He had 1/3. Not sure about the rest.Yeah, if he were coming back this year we'd be raving about the huge sophomore leap he's destined to take. He's a good college basketball player. I think the question is whether his attitude will improve with a new coach, or will he always be a difficult player to coach / play with?
Didn’t say I wouldn’t take him, I said he’s nowhere near the level of Pickett.5ish assists per game. 41% shooter. Has already played in the Big. Obviously a pass-first point guard. So, yeah, I'll take that. No question.
Didn’t say I wouldn’t take him, I said he’s nowhere near the level of Pickett.
I like Ty, Harris, and Dainja all as individual players but you basically can't play them any 2 of them together because of how the defense can cheat off non shootersIn my opinion, if Ty is actually gonna be our starting 1, rather than a point forward, Dain can’t start… if your PG is a 6’6 non-shooter, we need a shooter at the 5 so we can space the floor and make room around for Ty and TJ to slash.
The key word there is "legit". We only thought we could last year.Last year. And the year before that. And the year before that. And the year before...
But also never.
Misunderstood...Didn’t say I wouldn’t take him, I said he’s nowhere near the level of Pickett.
Careful or Juwan will take swings...
Subtle, but very savvy recruiting in the hand shake line.
We don’t really have a choice do we?They will go all in on it
It’s only been three months, so I’ll take this with a healthy grain of salt, thanks. In other news (regarding our current guys)-
Have heard that Ty has really progressed since the season ended and would not be surprised if he's one of our best players this year.
Also, Dain has lost significant amounts of fat and will "likely be one of the best 5s in the country"
Or Chin. Stones, meet glass houses.Careful or Juwan will take swings...
DumbEven picking up mulcahy we are worse off there than with Epps.
Oh... I get it. "Are we gonna get some New Jerseys or what." New Jersey. Rutgers. Mulcahy.CH tweet seems to indicate U of I as one of the top contenders. Let’s see if Brad & co. manage to do it.
What happened? I don’t think so. I didn’t see anything….shhhh…/sFrom what I understand, there's been some back-channeling (so we'd reached out/been in contact prior to today).
Or Chin. Stones, meet glass houses.
There was a lot of optimism in Illini Nation the summers of 1984, 1988, and 2004 too. This just remains to be seen. Appreciate the optimism. The board was overflowing with it last year at this time as well.
UCLA was a good team but let’s just be real here … TJ won that game by himself
I feel optimistic every time I buy a lottery ticketThere was a lot of optimism in Illini Nation the summers of 1984, 1988, and 2004 too.
