Robby Discher … He wasn’t the one dropping punts and fumbling …

I thought he improved the room this year overall … No reason to make a change …
Maybe so, but isn't it his responsibility to make sure that the players on the back end of the kick-off return squad try to at least impede the progress of the guys trying to annihilate the kick returner? Take a look at the Wilcher fumble again. The Northwestern player came in like a rocket and was untouched before he crashed into Wilcher. Yeah, I know it's Wilcher's job to hang onto the ball, but the blocking on that play (by the 3 guys supposedly giving Wilcher a fighting chance to launch a return) was pathetic.

I could be wrong but I remember a lot of penalties on kick off returns. I know Wilcher had a td called back.

3 straight coaches have hired an unqualified coordinator because of a prior relationship. Now I'm not saying Bret's choice was anywhere near as bad as Cubit or Lovie but hiring friends who under perform, and then you don't fire them because you've known then since they were 17 isn't a good look if they continue to produce poor results.

Really thought Baylor would go after him if they wound up hiring a new coach …
1. Baylor is tricky to gauge from the outside (they do quite a few wealthy boosters) though their AD Mack Rhodes has a good rep.
2. With all the Texas jobs (and AR, OK, and maybe LA), Jeff Traylor is always a name to watch. He has all of the UIL connections. Heck I would like him as a Bielema back up plan if (big if) he can develop good relationships with IHSA coaches.

That’s exactly the problem with hiring friends and family for any job in any organization. How do you fire them if they don’t perform?

Traylor isn’t leaving the south.

if Indiana doesnt go super hard after Toledo's Candle right after their MAC championship game this weekend, then they are just nuts

the other wild card would be if they could attract Liepold

Candle is their top target. With Chryst, Fitzgerald and Chuck Martin being discussed as well.

Candle would be a good hire for them, but if he ends up being another good HC how did we really get the only bad one...
