Believe Edwardsville also has a tournament with ESL and Belleville East? Thats probably the one to check out down that way.

I'm headed to Proviso West and Pontiac. Pontiac especially is stacked this year.
I've been going to or following Pontiac since West Aurora first went down in the mid 70s and I can't remember a field as deep as this.

Curie, Simeon, Oak Park, Bloomington, St. Charles North, West Aurora, Joliet West, Bloom, Benet, and Danville are a combined 80-10. Simeon, Curie, Bloomington and Joliet West are undefeated; Curie and Simeon are ranked 1 and 2 in the state, and both are ranked in the top 20 nationally. Not sure how Peoria Manual has done after losing DaMonte, Douglas-Watkins and Youngman but Adam Miller will be playing and I imagine has taken over a much bigger load since those three went down.

Other exceptional players (the ones I know off the top of my head) are the Martin twins, Joiner and Pickens of Curie; Gilyard, Clements, Horton-Tucker, Kezo Brown and Messiah Jones of Simeon; Kirk and Bell from Joliet West, Donatlan from West Aurora, Payton from Bloomington and Miller.

For those who can't make it to Pontiac all games will be shown on the Cube, starting Wednesday at 9 am. http://thecube.com/cube/pontiac-holiday-tournament/broadcasts

We probably wouldn't get Copeland because playing time is limited and he has plenty of good schools to choose from. But how will his eligibility work out? Sit out a year, be eligible starting next December, and plays for a year and a half?

Collinsville. Going on right now, I believe.

Correction: starts Wednesday http://classic.kahoks.org/Home/holiday-classic-bracket

I'd bet a lot of $$ that groce makes an appearance for an edwardsville game

Isaac Copeland -2014RSCI-#28

Copeland is a combo forward. He could potentially step in for Malcolm after sitting out first semester next year. If he gets a medical RS for this year, he'll be a JR next season. He'd likely compete with Kipper and DJW for time at SF and could also play some at the 4 in smaller lineups. In terms of skill set/position, he's kind of like a less athletic Kris Wilkes. We'd be lucky to get him.

As TC mentioned, Copeland was a 5-star, top-30 prospect coming out of high school. If he came here, we could end up fielding a lineup with two 5-stars (Copeland and Tilmon) and two more top-40 kids (JCL and Leron). In terms of pure talent, that's pretty awesome.

Very underwhelming at Georgetown and appears to have regressed each season.

He certainly hasn't lived up to expectations, but he really only regressed this year. He had a decent sophomore season: a little over 11 ppg, 5 reb, and a decent number of steals and blocks. He only shot 27% from 3pt range, but he posted a nice line otherwise. This season he's been battling back issues and is getting surgery (thus the medical redshirt possibility; very likely a reason for his dramatic regression). I'm willing to bet on a raw talent like that, though admittedly the bust factor is high - I definitely wouldn't be surprised if he flamed out completely.

So he'd either be a senior next year, which would be good cause it frees up a scholarship for 2018, but it would also be a waste cause we'd only get him for 2nd semester, otherwise he'd be a RS junior, which seems silly to add him to our already huge class for that year and take away a scholarship for 2018.

Kinda thinking I'll pass

Rebounding %, 3pt % both went down each season, not good for what appears to be a stretch 4.

And Georgetown hasn't been very good recently, too many red flags for me.

Fair. It would certainly be a gamble. I'd embrace it if he came, but wouldn't be surprised if he sat on the bench for half a year and then declared for the draft (then going undrafted and ending up in Europe or the D-League). Purely on physical talent, I'd roll the dice: if it clicks for him, you have a 6'9.5 face-up 4/power wing hybrid with NBA athleticism. Strong bust possibility, though. I won't be upset if he doesn't come (and he probably won't).

All things being equal, I'd rather get a serviceable 5th year big and Mark Smith to finish this class and then (assuming standard attrition of about one player/year) Tim Finke and Dosunmu/Ramey for 2018. Just saying I wouldn't be upset with a Copeland transfer.

I thought Copeland looked pretty good from what I saw of him last year. Would take him in a second.

In this scenario you have to take a big with one of those 2018 scholarships. We could lose all 3 of black, finke, and tilmon after that season. Would be no bigs.on the roster.

It would be a surprise to even lose one.

Why a surprise? Black and Finke should graduate after the 2018-19 season, and some think Tilmon will be a two and done.

I took the statement to mean recruiting for 2018 to replace for 2018-19 not for 2019-20. If indeed it meant 2019-20, then the only stochastic event ("could") is Tilmon as Black/Finke "will" graduate. Black/Finke could also leave in 2018-19 as RS fifth years, but it would be a surprise IMO (thus my statement).

It is all about what "that season" means, and 2018 was the only season mentioned.

The topic was 2018 recruiting, which will be conducted next fall (2017) or early spring (2018) so that affects 2018-19. Not sure what Finke/Black have to do with "could" be losing in 2019-20. They will be lost. If the statement is about "possibility" of losing players in 2019-20, the only possibility is Tilmon. We "could" be losing Tilmon, Black/Finke will not be there, but they "could" be leaving after 2017-18 as RS fifth years. But that is semantics as far as language. The bottom line is that we could be losing a player in the frontline in 2018-19. We could be losing Tilmon after 2017-18 as well.

He said all three could be lost AFTER the 2018-19 season, not during recruiting for that season. And while Finke is definitely lost after 2018-19, there is at least a possibility that Black could get a sixth season as the result of a second medical redshirt.

Again, this is 2018 "recruiting" season, which is 2017-18. Black and Finke "will" graduate before 2019-20. There is nothing that gives Black a possibility of a sixth year more than Finke. The only way Black gets a sixth year is if he gets another medical RS in his last year. Same exact thing with Finke, he could also get a medical RS, if something happens. There is nothing that says Black can apply for a sixth year medical but not Finke.

Again, I believe my post above is sufficient... not sure you want to argue, and you get yourself in trouble with Black having a possibility for sixth but not Finke.

Black and Finke are both redshirt sophomores. They are in the same situation when it comes to any kind of injury redshirt situation which hopefully never happens.

Yep we need to add another big this year or next or we will have none come 2019 I just do not see Tilmon here for 3 years. Personally I hope we add one this year and next year. The perfect answer would be to get both the aussies, Epperson and Froling
