I think we're all on the same page that he's going to Oregon, but did we ever decide if he makes if official at 3:00 ET, CT, MT, PT?

Piper pretty much confirmed on the Tay and J show yesterday that Abu was Oregon bound. Well so much for our Canadian pipleine.:)

FWIW Wooten is a terrific athlete. Haven't looked into him too much and I'm guessing he's on the raw side but dude has some bounce

We should do well in this recruitment against the likes of Utah, Washington State and UTEP.

There is a real pipeline from Canada to U of I. It just so happens that the end of the line is in Oregon. We're nothing more than a railroad stop for these guys, i.e.DILLON BROOKS, DYLAN ENNIS, and soon to be Kigab.

It didn't work out very well between us, SLU, and NW for another recruit. Do we have a lot to offer? Sure. What does he want at the end of the day? Not sure.

Not sure what it means, but we could still use 2 bigs, miss on Wilkes & Kigab which seems likely...we would have room for both Kiir & Wooten.

this is my thought as well Bigs are what we need the most, you cant stop trying to recruit. JG knows he has 2 spots still open so till they aren't he wont stop looking I don't believe

what makes you say we are out for Kir and Wilkes?

Well, Wilkes because we were never in for Wilkes and that's been obvious to anyone paying attention this entire time. But for Kiir, if we're going around and handing out fresh offers to players we wouldn't take if we landed Kiir, not tough to see the writing on the wall.

Losing Kiir to VCU would suck, but look on the bright side, losing kids to lesser schools because we have a 5-star in their way gets filed under "good problems to have".

Wooten leaves Manteca High for Trinity International in Las Vegas

Kenny Wooten propelled the Manteca High School boys basketball program to its first CIF state championship, coining the slogan “For the City.”

With less than three weeks left in the school year, the springy 6-foot-9 forward – an All-District large-school and all-state MaxPreps Division III first-team selection – has left that city for another.

Hope I'm wrong, but as of now it's :

Mayan Kiir - VCU
Kris Wilkes - UCLA
Abu Kigab - Oregon

Haven't heard anything on Jacob Epperson.

If we were never in for Wilkes why did he make a top 3? Why not just eliminate us from the get go?

Wooten won't decide until the spring, so not sure his offer has anything to do with Kiir.

Heck, we lead in CBs with Kiir, have Meyer's vote and just picked up the most recent one less than a week ago.

Indiana boards getting kind of ugly the last day or so as many of them are coming to that conclusion about Wilkes. Especially after one guy who had a CB to Indiana flipped it to UCLA yesterday.

"Never in" is probably too strong, but making top 3, top 5, or even top 2 does not necessarily mean equal chances. We have made top 2 for Kigab, but everyone seems to think for sometime now that he is going to Oregon. So the same question could be asked, why haven't we been eliminated already?

I think the answer to this question for all of these recruits (not just these two) is that you are dealing with 17-18 yr-old kids who like to make announcements. :)

Cody Riley just committed to UCLA. I like our chances with Wilkes

raw

No idea if we land Wilkes or not, I still think UCLA is the front runner but I just really wanted to use that gif.
