No bueno re:Kiir
Not necessarily, Groce wants depth at the big spots. If Tilmon only stays 2 years, then both he, Finke & Black are gone, leaving you only a junior Kiir and a sophomore Wooten
No bueno re:Kiir
I think we're all on the same page that he's going to Oregon, but did we ever decide if he makes if official at 3:00 ET, CT, MT, PT?
FWIW Wooten is a terrific athlete. Haven't looked into him too much and I'm guessing he's on the raw side but dude has some bounce
No bueno re:Kiir
Piper pretty much confirmed on the Tay and J show yesterday that Abu was Oregon bound. Well so much for our Canadian pipleine.
No, we have actual commitments of high quality. That is how well the staff is doing. Bridesmaids are irrelevant.
No bueno re:Kiir
Doubt it means much other than were just covering our bases.
Unfortunately, "base case" is that we miss on all three.
We should do well in this recruitment against the likes of Utah, Washington State and UTEP.
We could go for another grad transfer if need be.I thought we had a decent shot at Kiir, but alas, looks like 0 for 3 is a foregone conclusion now.
We need another big from somewhere. This Wooten looks like a good player.
Not sure what it means, but we could still use 2 bigs, miss on Wilkes & Kigab which seems likely...we would have room for both Kiir & Wooten.

what makes you say we are out for Kir and Wilkes?

But for Kiir, if we're going around and handing out fresh offers to players we wouldn't take if we landed Kiir, not tough to see the writing on the wall.
Losing Kiir to VCU would suck, but look on the bright side, losing kids to lesser schools because we have a 5-star in their way gets filed under "good problems to have".
Well, Wilkes because we were never in for Wilkes and that's been obvious to anyone paying attention this entire time. But for Kiir, if we're going around and handing out fresh offers to players we wouldn't take if we landed Kiir, not tough to see the writing on the wall.

Hope I'm wrong, but as of now it's :
Mayan Kiir - VCU
Kris Wilkes - UCLA
Abu Kigab - Oregon
Haven't heard anything on Jacob Epperson.
If we were never in for Wilkes why did he make a top 3? Why not just eliminate us from the get go?
"Never in" is probably too strong, but making top 3, top 5, or even top 2 does not necessarily mean equal chances. We have made top 2 for Kigab, but everyone seems to think for sometime now that he is going to Oregon. So the same question could be asked, why haven't we been eliminated already?
I think the answer to this question for all of these recruits (not just these two) is that you are dealing with 17-18 yr-old kids who like to make announcements.
Cody Riley just committed to UCLA. I like our chances with Wilkes
