maybe Illinois is not ready too.
This would boggle the mind unless staff is working silently for somebody much better at the C position.

Top 2 should be very elucidating. Sure, Florida and Illinois have been talked about, but now Michigan is suddenly in the conversation. Somebody is getting axed.

Why do I always feel like we are holding 4 of a kind and someone comes in with a straight flush?

Someone queue up the Debbie Downer .gif :)

Cash has always had good info. Cash might have some update or new info but now we don't get it because he got run off.

He didn't get "run off". He ran off. Not the same thing.

If Castleton's final two ends up being Illinois and Michigan, you would have to love our chances of landing him.

I have to believe this is where the Big O pays off for us. :illinois:

I think it's inference from his setting up new visits. Just a theory on my part, can't speak for mattcoldagelli.

Ahhh...that makes sense. I'm a little slow this week. :thumb:

Any details? Or just a hunch?

Look at my previous posts on the subject. Florida is not in a position to take his commitment right now (based on roster needs, not talent) They want to string it along, we are trying to make him decide quickly. Pretty easy to see through, if you ask the right questions.

The fact that he pushed the visit to UM quickly (9/29) bodes well for us. UM original pitch was they wanted him to come by himself so they could give him attention...odds are that was a stall tactic as well. The fact he is visiting so soon, with multiple other recruits scheduled, indicates it is the timeline CC forced.

Right - he's made some comments about how important it is to feel like a priority, and judging from the fact that he not only didn't commit but added new visits post-Gainesville, it would give credence to the suspicion that his UF offer isn't one that he's able to accept right now.

Evans says Castleton dropping his final 2 very soon. (Was confirmed on another site.)

In a recent interview, CC said that FSU wanted him to attend prep school at IMG. Sound familiar??:D Baylor and Scott Drew also showed up at his HS unexpectedly on Wednesday.

The main detail for me is that he left florida without committing. His "dream academic school" they have great sports programs, great weather, close to home. How did they let him leave? Only reasons I can imagine are a bad visit or they didn't force the commitment.

I think it'll be us and Michigan. Seems like Florida botched the visit.

I agree, I think the most likely scenario is Illinois and Michigan, as Florida may not be ready to move on. The second most likely scenario is Michigan and Florida IMO, still waiting on Florida (that's why cutting his choices and not committing) but adding Michigan.

In any case, I can't see Michigan getting dropped, if he opened the door to Michigan coming in and now preparing for OV, it means that he was not completely sold and ready to pull the trigger on earlier choices, for whatever reason.

Great analysis (and not simply because it bodes well for us). Thanks.

If Florida had botched the visit and they were out, why not just commit? Doesn't say much for him being sold on Illinois if he then adds in Michigan. Especially with IL being involved this long.

Fair question. But I don't think it's as cut and dried as him walking off UF's campus, saying "Nope!" and pulling out his phone to text our coaches that he's in.

Most kids take some time with these things for one reason or another, and perhaps in the time it took for him to come to grips with the fact that he really wasn't going to be able to make it work for the school he always wanted to attend, Beilein dropped him a line.

Think Talen is ready to cut his list down. Any Illini graphic artists who can volunteer?
