Guys that have seen this kid play a lot, did we upgrade on RJ? It sure feels like we did.

Maybe I’m misremembering, but wasn’t the recruiting thread full of “the sky is falling” posts last year at this time? People need to relax. At least we got a commit today to slow those posts down. Yeah right.
I think it was on Saturday, several were panicking because someone thought Domask was going to Wisconsin. Relaxing a bit and being patient seems to be some good advice. But time will tell.

How does Domask compare and fit with Goode?
Goode's a bit bigger and longer and a more deadly long-range shooter as a catch-and-shoot guy, but more limited into a 3-and-D type role.

Domask is a jack-of-all-trades. He'll put the ball on the floor a lot more and generate more stuff for himself and others. Good shooter, not elite. Probably a little more limited in the defensive matchups you can put him in.

Very much like what I see there. Only wish we could have him for more than one year.

Is Shawn Phillips really someone the staff wants? He didn’t have a good freshman year at LSU by any means, and they were bad. Was outside of the top 100 in his class… feel like we could do better at the 5 spot but if we return Coleman & Dain than he could be a good guy to bring in to give 5 fouls and block some shots…

are kids trying to leverage this too though?

"School A is offering this much. What can you do for me to stay?"
Exactly. You can't avoid your NIL people knowing that you're sniffing around. So I think it's probably less about ticking people off and more about the PR difficulty of going into the portal and still returning. Of course it happened with Kofi and will continue to happen in the future. But I don't think that's the ideal way to handle it from a public relations point of view.

All we need to do here is improve over Lieb. I think Phillips is easily an upgrade.

Should be an excellent role player who knows to to play within the team concept. Good, maybe not great shooter...but at 6'6" this looks like a great pickup for what you need.

Because we're going to get called back to MVC transfer reference points, Domask is really a lot more similar to Rayvonte Rice than to Jon Ekey both in terms of his style of play and level of production in the Valley.

Ekey was more of a Goode-type stand in the corner guy offensively.

I like the pickup. He's not one of the top players available but he's going to be a good enough role player who will play for the team and not just be about improving his draft stock or what not. This is what Underwood needs to do. Get veterans who will be unselfish, understand their role coming in, and play for one another. I see him in a 6th man role or a super utility role where he may get some spot starts too
