When do we expect to have Kofi back? Is there a timeline? Without him, we're just hanging on by our fingernails.

However, we play pretty well on the road. More road wins than any other Big Ten team?My guess is that the Illini will be favored (even not knowing who will play for us), but it is usually more difficult playing on the road. Over the course of the season, nearly every Big Ten team has a better record at home than on the road. I also am expecting a win, but I doubt this will be easy. NW has been competitive recently.
I mean that's the public facing answer. Obviously the team knows exactly where he falls in the Covid protocol. Generally unless he is quite sick I would expect him to be available Saturday since he was out Tuesday.Response I got from Scott Richey, "Don't know when Andre actually went in health and safety protocol (even though I asked) or what his symptoms are, so no clear timetable for his return. Kofi is evaluated every day. His return is based on when he clears the entirety of the concussion protocol tests."
Thanks for posting this. I looked at the UI Covid guidelines, and they say to adhere to the CDC. So as long as he posts a negative test to the portal, he should be able to play. (And by should be able to play, I mean when he's fully healthy and cleared by doctors.)Curbelo is scheduled to practice today. That should tell a lot about his status. Kofi is a test by test basis.
What I want is a complete beat down from start to finish. I don’t want to see us go scoreless for 10 minutes in the second half and when by 1. I don’t want that hectic crazy finish going into overtime or even second overtime
I don’t want us to be down 20 points at then end of the first half only to comeback and decimate NW in the second. ( I will admit I enjoyed watching that second half and went back to my dvr and watched the second half again just for pure enjoyment).
Is wrong to ask for this to be that game where our started are not busting their butts off in the last 5 minutes and can enjoy watching from the bench and resting as RJ and Podz rain 3s and dunks and even Lieb gets in the action with a hard pick or two which knocks a little wildcat off their feet.
Again is this wrong to ask?
That's what we were saying last Friday prior to the Maryland game. However, we play pretty well on the road. More road wins than any other Big Ten team?
Anyone that watched the first Maryland game when Kofi was out should have had a sense of dread in their heart going into that Maryland game knowing Kofi wouldn't play. That's what we were saying last Friday prior to the Maryland game.
I wish the kid well seems like a good guy with some skill. However I don't see or get where he is at presently! If I am on the team and injuried I would be on the bench supporting my teammates. I can not believe he is winning points not being there. I understand he had surgery but how hard is it to walk out there and sit in a chair. Two guys are doing it now with concussionsI have been following his misfortune, but was that a good-bye to the hype or goodbye to Hutch?
I still hope we get to see a full, healthy year out of him. Just can't count on it....
I thought Tate was the Sage of Monticello? No??
Thanks for sharing. Can anyone who has ever been and/or observed a concussion protocol shed some light on the tests that Kofi needs to clear?Curbelo is scheduled to practice today. That should tell a lot about his status. Kofi is a test by test basis.
BU said after the game that BBV was cramping and that he told him he was not getting any sympathy. I really like the way BBV has stepped up latelyAudige, Buie, and Nance all elevated their game this year. Their record does not reflect the kind of team this is. Won't be a cake walk even if Kofi and or curbelo return.
Any hints on BBVs injury? He was in a ton of pain and limping late in the MSU game.
Doesn't change the fact that we win more on the road than other Big Ten teams. That's what we were saying last Friday prior to the Maryland game.
Yep he has to test negative to practice, right?Curbelo is scheduled to practice today. That should tell a lot about his status. Kofi is a test by test basis.
Northwestern's biggest weakness has been guarding the 3 pt line. I think we'll see a back and forth game for awhile, before we go on a big scoring run. Something like 20-2. We are due for an offensive explosion.
But it would be okay if we decided to squeak this one out, and save the offense for Wisconsin.
Yep he has to test negative to practice, right?
Not sure on the isolation rules, thought they were still 5 days after the last positive?
at any rate this is GREAT news
Guess he tested positive after the game Friday or on Saturday? Here's the latest CDC guidance:
Ending isolation if you had symptoms:
End isolation after 5 full days if you are fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and your symptoms are improving.
It reads to me someone only has to wait 5 days after first positive as long as the other conditions are met.
Realistically curbelo could've tested positive anytime between the MD and MSU game right? BU did mention he didn't practice Sunday, although he said it was the flu.Yep he has to test negative to practice, right?

You are correct. This is going to be a tough game to win no matter who shows up.Audige, Buie, and Nance all elevated their game this year. Their record does not reflect the kind of team this is. Won't be a cake walk even if Kofi and or curbelo return.
