I agree, unfortunately, he is the only OF that has shown any ability to hit RH pitching at all (I am hopeful on Carlson, too small a sample size).

Yes. Carp comes off too, unless he has "X" amount of at bats, then the next year vests.
Just looked it up, apparently needs 1,100 PA ro vest, with at least 550 in 2021. Unless there's some kind of Covid adjustment to that number, I think we're safe, as he had all of 169 PA in 2020, meaning he'd need 931 this year to trigger.

If there is a prorate, it would be somewhere around 460 PA in 2020. That would still leave 640, yeah, likely safe there.

I thought Montero was well thought of, but still a position of minor league strength.
I believe he was well regarded, but also the 3rd ranked 3B prospect after Gorman and Jordan Walker (our top pick in 2020 draft). So with Arenado coming in he would have had a hard time finding at bats at the major league level.

So, it appears the Cards are still a bat light. Someone in the outfield that can effectively hit RH pitching, which they will face 85% of the time in the NL central. Would you rather they go for someone now, or wait until mid-year after seeing if any of the OFs have learned to cut down on strike outs and make contact against RHs?
I think outfield is on pause until we know what we have although I could argue we know already. Carlson could be great and we should have kept Randy. I’d trade most any of the others.

I can't imagine anyone else would want to sign a 39 year old catcher, whose hitting has been fading, along with his defense. I believe that he still calls a great game. I know the Cards want him for legacy purposes, and for the locker room. I just don't think another team would get as much from him.
The Jays would have to really WOW him. I also don't see Yadi going to another team for a little more money.

Looks like with the Wong signing, the Brewers will move Hiura, who was god awful defensively at 2B, over to 1st base.
