Illini92and96

Not bad, but by no means exciting compared to how we are hyping him. Grandison was 9.3, 3.8, 2.3, and 41%, so better than Shannon in 3 of the 4 I listedAre you suggesting those numbers are bad?

that makes senseHis role at TT wasn't ideal for his skillset, and I think that's a decent part of why he's leaving. He filled a role. His stats don't bear out the talent he'll bring to whatever team he plays for next season.
looking at some of his newer film and he would be a solid piece to 2022 class. skilled and BIG. A project with big upside
Confident?
The start to that video where he does multiple slow-a$$ jab steps, takes one crossover dribble, and then roasts that child is legit hilarious. Great length. Nice shot. I like it.
True but TSJ's Freshman and Sophomore rebounding numbers were better than Grandison's the last two years, and he's a better defender. Much better Steal and Block numbers. So if you say rebounding is a wash and add in steals and blocks it starts to paint a different picture. Also, Grandison was a good player! Not bad, but by no means exciting compared to how we are hyping him. Grandison was 9.3, 3.8, 2.3, and 41%, so better than Shannon in 3 of the 4 I listed
Lol no I’m just saying it would definitely be “here we go again”Have you only been an Illinois fan for this week? All of us banking on a player that ultimately goes elsewhere is a core part of Illini fandom.
It's a solid stat line for sure, but not close to great. Would have been 4th in points, 7th in rebounds, and 5th in assists on last years Illini team. Then again, Tech looks like they spread things around . He was 2nd in points right above two others, 8th in rebounds, and 3rd in assists. Those are great numbers. Also consider he had a few injuries that really disrupted his season.
Also as others have said, is that not a really good stat line? This isn’t a transfer from some mid major high usage guy. 95% of teams in the country could use a guy like TSJ.
Ok, sold!True but TSJ's Freshman and Sophomore rebounding numbers were better than Grandison's the last two years, and he's a better defender. Much better Steal and Block numbers. Add '65 to that list. that team was loaded! (until the slush fund scandal in '67.)If I as to rank the top 5 Illinois teams in my lifetime, it would be 89, 05, 01, 84 and 81. This next years team will be in that conversation.
Nice skills but a project for Fletch. Looks slow and barely can jump over the Sunday paper. Definitely not Larry Bird athleticism. The start to that video where he does multiple slow-a$$ jab steps, takes one crossover dribble, and then roasts that child is legit hilarious. Great length. Nice shot. I like it.
All im saying is if the Skyy commit does happen, the first .gif that gets posted better be the “it’s happening” one. Saw it too many times in my years and have it backfire.

I’m just saying, from a certain POV, I nailed it.
Grandison was just sneaky good but not flashy. Was rarely in the wrong place but also was playing the four when he is a 3. But we would be happy to have him back so an equal replacement is not a bad thing. Do not agree that TSJ is easily a better player.TSJ is easily a better player than Grandison but Grandison was pretty underrated on here, illinois ran a ton of stuff through him. His shooting + entry passes to Kofi were huge. There was a reason he lead the team in adjusted team efficiency when he was on the court the last 2 years.
I don't think Grandison was underrated (by the end of this season) so much as it just took a while for many of us to realize just how effective he had been for us.TSJ is easily a better player than Grandison but Grandison was pretty underrated on here, illinois ran a ton of stuff through him. Who or what is BBN?Wordd... I look forward to Skyy making BBN look bad with stellar play next year.
I did not know this was a thing. Thank you for providing this public service announcement. It's also National Beer Day. Coincidence?
Big Blue Nation i.e. KentuckyWho or what is BBN?
Are they getting recruited by Tennessee?Hutch and Grandison are not coming back
The 1962-63 Illini was ranked number 8 in the country when they lost in the elite 8 to theAdd '65 to that list. that team was loaded! (until the slush fund scandal in '67.)
I count 12 including Kofi and Skyy
Ty, Jayden Sencire Skyy
Luke, RJ Brandin Dainja
Brandon, Coleman
Kofi, BBV
I vote we take TSJ and call it a day unless somebody else leaves
If this is referencing Podz, pretty sure he is clearly on the list…?
