Also because said QB that beat Aaron is a senior...

I still think a Junior AB could beat out a senior UNI QB considering AB was a 4 Star D1 recruit. But like I said, AB doesn't seem to be a QB. Which is why every school but us tried recruit him as something else.

Wrong. That transfer rule does not apply when moving from an FBS to an FCS school.

correct. this is the reason we pretty much all speculated he would be going to ISU , or any other FCS school in the area. It turned out to be UNI.

It is a fair rule, and gives the FCS schools a chance at some talent, and gives the player a chance to play right away, because 95% of the time , the player is transferring simply to be able to play.

AB seems like a great guy. I just don't understand why he is so hard headed about playing QB. He would make himself so much more valuable at the next level if he learned to come out of the backfield and run or catch.

In our system Bailey was not going to succeed. Multiple reasons first he did not come from a school that gave him any real help to prepare him to be a college qb in a pro or most spread offenses 5 to 9 passes a game. NIA might be ideal for him.
He had a nice arm but needed refining on tech, and taught how to go thru progressions with throws allowing him to make the best choice. He was not getting the college coaching to a degree either , while Cubes helped him some from Feb to Aug 1. once it was time to work toward game one he was likely more mental reps on his own the being coached up.
So you got a kid that is unlikely to be considered for the pro's at his choosen position because he was unwilling to change for his own benefit.

Don't fret so much fellow Loyalists.
Brandon Jones needs 40 to 50 lbs for sde . He does have a nice burst, keeps his eyes in the backfield so he tracks the ball well and as he does pursues as well. VVg length and ht for the position. Plays hard to the whistle, with vvg sp, st, power, qu and burst. He has the building blocks but is raw, thou he does shed well and needs to retain all those tool once he gains the 40-50 lbs.
He received a 5.6 3* rating so middle of the pack for a 3*. My guess is he will not receive much of a look from scout, rival and espn, and 24/7 so he will remain a 2 * in their eyes.
Not bad all three dl commits are under rated imo I have Black with the same grade and Jackson I flat love the kid he is my next year I am excited to see play kid as was Mikey before last year.

You like him more than me. I think is a project player that we hope makes the rotation as a Redshirt Junior and Senior ala a slightly more productive Kenny Nelson. And you missed Antonio Shelton for this class as well. I think he is a hope to contribute as a redshirt sophomore type of player. Not knocking these pickups, this program needs depth and I hope they give it. They just are not a Kenyon Jackson could probably contribute as a True Freshman like Milan will but I hope he can redshirt. We still need more D Line recruits since we only have 3 underclassman total now since it appears Sean Adesanya is a junior not a 4 to play 3 sophomore.

Ken Ruff and Ken McLaurin come on down or Tre Johnson and Aaron Thompson. Please join the Illinois Zoo

Actually Jacob I had watched Shelton tape sometime and simply missed him when I mentioned the other d-lineman. Shelton has the athletic ability but needs to stay lower and develop his strength as just a couple quick notes to play the 3 tech. For me he was a low 3* because of that rating a 5.55.

I think he needs to bulk up a lot and get ALOT of strength to play the 3 Tech as an everyday player. If that doesn't happen I think he will be only for passing downs. Again I think he is good for the program and will be a valuable down the road but to me he is the definition of a project 2 star recruit

I see Watts was offered by Purdue this week...so is it only us & NW who are penalizing ourselves now by not admitting some of these players who are eligible by NCAA standards?:tsk:

Yes, Wisconsin relaxed there standards after the Jordan Stevenson was denied and 4 Star OL last January couldn't get in

DiNardo even mentioned this situation on a BTN segment, so it is not just Illini fandom paranoia
