The softball team has a lot of questions to answer regarding its players. Lots of issues: destruction of religious property, false accusations of abuse, hurting themselves and filing a false report to see if anyone cared... Strange situations in a program under a first-year head coach.

I don't think I'll ever feel good about someone brandishing a knife in a crowded, public setting.

I understand that first time offenders are often granted more lenient punishments. I still think four non-exhibition games is too lenient for the crime committed, but that's just my opinion.

I'll reiterate a previous post of mine. Make or break doesn't hinge on recruiting for me. Only the season. Top 7 in the Big Ten and a 10-seed or better in the NCAA tournament.

Again, while all of this may be true in some sense, all of these things were self-inflicted. I watched a lot of games during the losing streak to see what was going on, and it was clear the team just couldn't defend at all. If they had a lead, it'd disappear because they couldn't defend. But...

Goodwin is the biggest must-get recruit in this class. He would elevate the team in so many ways for 4 years.
