10th loss in a row last night. Soon to be 11 with Indiana coming to town Saturday. Anyone's opinion changed?
Bollant has been in over his head the moment he stepped on campus. Illinois is currently 8-20 after finishing last season 9-21. Illinois' best win this year has been Iowa, which will...
The softball team has a lot of questions to answer regarding its players. Lots of issues: destruction of religious property, false accusations of abuse, hurting themselves and filing a false report to see if anyone cared...
Strange situations in a program under a first-year head coach.
I understand that first time offenders are often granted more lenient punishments. I still think four non-exhibition games is too lenient for the crime committed, but that's just my opinion.
Not much basketball punishment at all in my opinion. I know many will disagree with me because they're happy to have his production back for next year, but four games (excluding the exhibitions) against cupcakes is barely a slap on the wrist, (again) in my opinion. Double this and we're getting...
I have finally grown out of following recruiting. Too much argument about semantics (silent verbals). Too much argument about whose info is more legit (ie. who has a bigger...). Too much argument as to timelines, intentions, who's overly positive or who's chicken little.
I'm out. Wake me up...
This is a fair assessment so far. My observations:
-Needs to be more aware when rolling to the hoop. Three times have passes from the guard surprised him and led to turnovers.
-Fades away from rim on post moves too often. Probably will get better with strength.
-Footwork is outstanding for his...
No idea where to put this, but Mike Waddell is out as senior associate AD. He was then offered a temporary position within the university to give him time to decide his next move in athletics.
Paul Kowalcyzk was at the joint Whitman/Groce presser, so it looks like he may stay on. Whitman's...
I'll reiterate a previous post of mine. Make or break doesn't hinge on recruiting for me. Only the season.
Top 7 in the Big Ten and a 10-seed or better in the NCAA tournament.
Again, while all of this may be true in some sense, all of these things were self-inflicted. I watched a lot of games during the losing streak to see what was going on, and it was clear the team just couldn't defend at all. If they had a lead, it'd disappear because they couldn't defend. But...
Very underwhelmed by Damonte in these two games at state this weekend. Very athletic, but his skill set isn't as far along as I'd hope a Top-50 recruit's would be. Also, as many have pointed out, his mindset is very passive which has led to inconsistency. Remember, he also only scored 2 points...
